Hey, T.! I am sorry to hear how much of a struggle this has been, but I think you're TOTALLY on track now that you've had that lightbulb moment. It's amazing how the pounds can just creep up, almost so slowly that you don't realize it until it "feels" too late. But you KNOW it's not too late, it's never too late, and it's even better that you've stopped it in its tracks!
I am totally in agreement with Robin on the issue of scaling back once you've "enjoyed" maintenance. I found the weight loss process infinitely easier, because I literally had blinders on, didn't even see the other options. But once you're "maintaining," the food world is your oyster! Ha. I am still maintaining, but I absolutely struggle, and I find that when I want to "reign it in" a bit, it is actually easier to just go full throttle back to MF zone, then to make small tweaks. But that's just me.
Either way, you said it yourself a few days ago, all the other stresses and issues will be there regardless, why add feeling crappy about yourself to the mix? (um, yeah, I paraphrased! Ha.) Might as well do the things that make you feel and look great, and the other stuff will likely feel less debilitating.
Welcome back, use this crew to garner the support you need, as we all have gotten so much from you all this time, it's a give and take!
