I used to work with someone who always took the stairs. One day a bunch of us were leaving, and she got in the elevator. A friend asked why she wasn't taking the stairs, and she said it was because she wasn't wearing her pedometer that day. LOL

:D

Well, yesterday was challenging. Calories higher than I wanted, steps less than I expected and exercise sadly lacking. I missed all 3 of my daily goals. Well, I did drink 72 oz of water so that was an improvement. :)

Total Calories: 1305
Pedometer: 5648 steps
H2O drank: 72 oz (no diet soda drank today!)
Exercise: Babysitting and running (yep, physically running) crazy through the house with the grands--them for fun and me for the steps and exercise.

My calories were high because I was nibbling on what I prepared for the little ones. Darn me! I did write down everything and did my best to check packaging to make sure I tallied up all the bites/nibbles though.
Weight was up .5# this morning. :?

I'm doing my grocery shopping this morning after picking up our oldest grandchild. He'll be coming home with me, after grocery shopping, to spend a night or two for some 'grandparent time'.

No New Year's eve festivities planned. We'll be asleep when the new year hits (our usual, LOL). DH is on vacation for the rest of the week, so I may not check in for a few days.

Happy New Year!

Have a good time with the grandson!! I try to stay up for midnight, but I almost always end up dozing off long before then. Sigh.

Happy New Year!

Katie, I hope you have a wonderful 2009, too.

DH is on vacation, so I'm going to try to stay away from the computer until he returns to work on Monday. I'll check in Monday morning. :)

Whoo-Hoo! Monday is almost done and it was a good day. :) It is those little things that make me smile.

I have done wonderfully with program and also with exercising! I'm excited and hoping the enthusiasm, joy and positive attitude continues for a long time. Sure hope it isn't a flash in the pan.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and say 'hello'. Steps so far today are only at 6800, so didn't hit my 8,000 (again)--but I feel very good about how I spent my day and what I accomplished even though it didn't show up on the pedometer.

I'm glad you had a wonderful Monday! I started exercising yesterday as well and it made me feel pretty good about what I got done the rest of the day, too. No flash in the pan, Tuesday will be just as great!

Today is day 3 of exercising. I'm doing well and am eager for the day that I'm rid of these regained pounds. :) I'm on my way!

Hooray! I remember from past posts that exercising is a tough thing for you to get into - 3 days is a wonderful start and I hope you enjoy day 4. :D

Did 50 minutes of exercise this morning. I finished almost an hour ago and am still feeling the effects which is awesome--it is a good tired.

The grandchildren are here until tomorrow night so it will be a busy couple days.

Yesterday was another day of 100% program. I'm feeling positive, energetic and hopeful that I've got my head on straight finally.

Another on program and successful day yesterday. Over 10,200 steps, exercised 50 minutes and stayed on program. I'm thinking (in my own little mind) that I'm pretty hot stuff. ;) Oh! I also drank over 64 oz of water........

I wonder how long I can keep this up......I hate to exercise and I love sugar.......or at least I use to hate exercise and love sugar----it is time to really work on a thought (and actions) change.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I woke at 2:34 and just gave up on trying to sleep longer. It was another of those nights where I was awake, wishing to sleep, far longer than I'd sleep. I don't know why these sleepless nights happen so often, but it sure is the pits.

When I exercised yesterday, I couldn't complete all of the exercises. I was a bit dizzy and shakey, so I had to take more breaks than I liked. I decided that I was probably not giving my body enough fuel for all of the activity I've been asking of it this past week. I've been having 950 to 1200 calories a day and exercising (weights and cardio) 40-55 minutes a day.

I've tried having an extra supplement on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I didn't feel it helped me enough so now I'm thinking perhaps I'll go to 4-2 with breakfast added in. Lean protein, low-fat and possibly high fiber. I'll watch the calories closely and only do it on the days I exercise.

I'm going to try that for a few days and see how my energy level is during exercise along with what it does to my weight. I do have a heart rate monitor that calculates calories burned but haven't worn it during exercise yet. I'll get that out and ready to wear tomorrow when I exercise (today is my rest day).

So....that is my update and what is happening here.

Wonder where HB is.....and how she and others who recently restarted are doing. Hope they are doing well.

MS t...

Just take care of yourself. Maybe your just doing to much exercise right now. For instance I know you walk to your mail box. And it is pretty far away. And with all the grand babies. YOu are one strong women.

I don't think it's a bad idea to give yourself more fuel on workout days, especially if you are feeling weak. If you're not getting enough energy you won't lose weight, either - from what I understand your body will hold on to the weight like crazy as a kind of protection against starvation. But I'm sure not a doctor or a personal trainer. Take care of yourself.

I do wonder about the others sometimes. I hope they are doing well. I know when I'm not here, it usually means I'm not doing well. But that's just me.

Thanks for the comments everyone. (I'm in a hugging mood today I guess).

I exercised on Saturday (that was the day that I didn't do well) and then again this morning. I'm doing a combination of light weights (no more than 10#) and very slow reps. It is intense and gets my heart pumping along with sweat dripping. Amazing workout and I've felt a lot of muscle soreness, but I like it because I feel like I'm making a difference in my body (and improving my metabolism).

I took my measurements last week, gosh but I've gained a lot of inches with those 20# I regained! I bought one pair of new jeans since the ones I had were uncomfortably tight (and unattractive). Size 10..they fit. I'm looking forward to the day when they are too big. I hope it is soon. I've lost 3# so far and have no guess at how much I'll have to lose to get into those smaller jeans. Really, it doesn't matter.....I'm committed to getting back below my goal weight of 147 and to become fit, healthier.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I am not spending money unless I have it (not charging unless I have the funds to pay for the item when the bill comes), so that nixes shopping. I've already done my exercising.....the dishes are done, one load of laundry is done and only one more to do. I could vacuum and dust....then I can spend some time organizing the house better.

Guess I know which way to go today---housework. :)
