I moved to those 33.8oz bottles a long time ago and getting my water in became so much easier! I try to have 4 or 5 of them a day and it's nowhere near as daunting as trying to have 20 glasses! Plus I don't have to count so high....

Sorry for misunderstanding earlier - we just care about you that's all and we want you to appreciate your success!

Nickie, I do like that size bottle, too. I drank two of them yesterday so that was about 9 glasses of water. I did have to push myself to drink that much. Odd how some days it is so easy/doable and other days it is feels like so much of a struggle.

I appreciate your concern. I just don't wish to give the wrong impression as to how I'm reacting and feeling, which it seems to be what I do. Often I'm just in too much of a hurry to get my thoughts typed out so I don't stop to choose the best way to describe them.

163 today. -49# I doubt that I'll see 50# for tomorrow's weigh in. We have a barbeque to attend this evening so my lean and green will probably be a burger & whatever legal veggies are there unless I eat my L & G at home and keep busy/moving enough that no one notices that I'm not partaking of the food there....which may be doable. I know I can stick to program, but just not in complete control of sauces or marinades that people use so my little concern would be some water retention weight hitting me tomorrow. I'll think on it some more and maybe just do the L & G before going and have a large bottle (33.8 oz?) in hand while visiting with others.

Prior planning prevents poor performance. ;)

I miss Biki..... :(

Im psychic, dont ya know??
Glad you are guzzling the h20. Do you have well water? Do you like the taste?

Just a thought, cant you just bring your own chicken or burger?
Or is that too much attention on yourself?

Have a fun day and remember,
you are beautiful inside and out

HB, I hope you are right and I will toe the MF program line extremely carefully.......but I think it is a bit much to hope to see more of a loss this week than I already have. I believe this is going to be my biggest loss week during my time on MF....but what helps that is that I gained last week, LOL. So---the loss isn't as big as what it will look like.

I just had to have a stern talk with my bratty inner child. You know the one I'm talking about: "I *want* to eat THAT!! I want to eat that NOW! That smells so darn wonderful and tastes so delicious--I remember how that tastes and it is heavenly....." and so on, so forth.

So what started that bratty inner child's sniveling, whining and cajoling? I made a delish dessert to take to the BBQ this evening. It is a 7 layer dessert with graham cracker crumb bottom, sweetened condensed milk, butterscotch & choc. chips, coconut and walnuts sprinkled atop. Oh baby! It smelt fabulous as it was cooking (and now as it is cooling on the counter). But I'm chugging water (yea!) and telling myself that the darn blessed dessert recipe is still going to be around when I've lost all the weight, done transition, maintenance and I can have a piece (a piece? Dang, will I ever be able to have just one piece of something that was a major binge trigger?) at the next BBQ---next summer.

I truly wonder if I'll ever be able to have these types of foods again. I know many probably can have them and control themselves. But I don't know if I am one of those with that type of control....I seriously doubt that I am. I believe that these types of foods/treats are going to have to be extremely few and very, very, very far between. I am not trust worthy around certain foods and abstaining completely is probably going to have to be the way I control myself.

Anyway....I still have to fry up some bacon (yeah, I'm into self pain this morning) and then mix up a big pot of baked beans. I'm going to wear my size 10 jeans (hopefully will not need a shoehorn to get myself into them) and make sure that I don't have a muffin top when I wear them...... Those will keep me from feeling deprived while everyone else shovels fattening delicious foods into their faces. ;)

I think that sounds like a GREAT idea. One of two things will happen - you'll feel so delicious yourself in those jeans that you won't want to break your streak of progress - or you will have to shoehorn yourself into them and then you won't be able to eat anything anyway. I hope it's the first one. :D

Just home from the barbeque and I did well. I ended up eating the food that was there and know that the lean & green wasn't 'enough' but it worked out fine. I had 3 bottles of water (the 20 oz. bottles) so just kept chugging the water whenever I was thinking how good that darn dessert table looked. I kept myself on program, it wasn't horribly hard but it also wasn't really easy either. I kept telling myself that this is how it is going to be.....I need to practice self control for the rest of my life. :? Wouldn't it be something if it didn't have to be that way?

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in here and share that I made it through the event and am pretty pleased with myself about drinking the 60 oz of water while there.

I was glad to see the update about Biki was on the boards this evening. I look forward to her return.

I'm missing Donica, too......sure hope she comes back soon.

Nite all.....I hope it was a good day for everyone.

Congrats Tawanda on being compliant at the BBQ. You have to be so proud on how far you have come. And I think you are so right, this is a life long battle and I too will need to stay away from some foods that are trigger foods. Maintanence should be another interesting journey but it's amazing what we are learning along the way.

Two pounds away from the 50 pound club. You are doing so wonderful and are so determined. I love your attitude. Keep up the good work.

g'morning.

Sue, it is going to be a life long struggle, for me at least, or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and find that I really will change my attitude and habits, deep down inside my brain (and stomach?) so that food isn't as compelling and the first thing I think of.......it would be nice if that were the case.

-4.5 for this week. If memory is right, I was up 2# last Sunday (over what I was mid-week) so knew those 2 pesky pounds weren't really 'there'....and then the dastardly stomach flu hit.....so the loss is wonderful but there were a couple of factors that led to the large number.

That puts me just one little pound from hitting the 50# mark. Soon....very soon I'll be there! :D

Hi Tawanda,
Congrats on the weightloss and staying compliant during the bbq. This time of the year can be very hard.

I feel like you do...I'm going to have to watch what I eat for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I can't stop eating like I did smoking. Once I quit smoking, I never had to do it again, but eating is a horse of another color.

One thing that did change my eating was eating all natural and organic. Once I did that It really changed my heart about what I eat. I now shop the perimitter of stores. There are so many different types of foods that I thought "Had" to be in the house. Now I can't believe I ever ate those foods. I don't eat pre-packaged foods at all. I even mill my own wheat ...the only pre-packaged foods I eat are my medifast meals...which I find very convenient.

I will have to watch my portions and what I eat for the rest of my life....I think like an addict who is in recovery has to becareful about not putting himself in a postition to fall, I will have to do the same thing. If I know that Icecream causes me to binge...no icecream.

Maybe one day i''ll be strong enough to test myself, but I'm not sure...I wouldn't smoke another cigarette just to see...kwim?

This is my second time losing this weight with Medifast. Medifast works...I just have to watch for the rest of my life.
God Bless,
Laura

Tawanda,

Good for you for staying compliant at the BBQ and drinking all that water instead! Having a plan definitely helps in those situations... you did great sticking with it. Wearing those 10 jeans must have been such a wonderful feeling as well!

And I'm very proud of you for resisting that amazing sounding dessert that you made, and even further, resisted the smell of frying bacon!

How strong you are, great job!!

And even though you didn't get that 1 little tiny extra pound this week.. 50# club is something super cool that you can look forward to this coming week! I'm so excited for you! :)

Hey T,

You did so great staying compliant at the barbeque :) I haven't been to any cookouts this summer and that's probably for the best.

I'm excited about the 50# club celebration we're gonna have on the boards any day now. I'll bring the confetti :)
