You'll see DS for dear sister or dear son, DD for dear daughter, DMIL for dear mother in law, DGD for dear granddaughter....etc.

I believe there are lists online of acronyms that are used.....FWIW (for what is it worth) HTH (hope that helps)..........yeah, there are a lot of them!! ;)

Don't forget IMHO-in my honest opinion.

I do have a long way to go......but that was pretty darn wonderful to hear.

My husband tells me I am skinny (I usually say, yeah right!) all the time and that Medifast is miraculous and he can't believe I have stuck with something so long!

That is what I believe it does mean.......but I guess it is like the DS being able to cover a couple different meanings.....this must also be one of those that can be tweaked however someone needs it to be under the particular circumstance.

Tawanda - that was so nice of your hubby - it must have made your day? I am almost like Biki in that I respond ' yah..whatever' but don't say anything about MF.

My DH gave me the nicest NSV possible this morning. He gave me a hug & smooch g'bye this morning, as is the norm when he heads off to work, and he had his hand on my waist. He matter of factly said "you're getting skinny". I was    and came back with something along the lines of 'well, not skinny and I have a long way to go yet'. Groan!!!! He said 'it is working' or something-----I wasn't listening as well at that point cause I was thinking "why didn't I just say THANK YOU?!" :x

That was a nice way to start your day!! I also have a hard time accepting a compliment from my DH... If a co-worker says something I have no problem saying thanks, but if is my DH I always have some kind of negative comment about myself. I think we need to change our way of thinking, and just learn to say thanks when someone notices how much hard work we have done. :D

Nice NSV, Tawanda! I think that compliments from those closest to us mean the most. Like your DH for example. I mean he has watched you every day of this journey and he knows the struggles you have faced and has watched you overcome them. He sees how strong you've become and knows that you are commited. Others may give compliments, which are wonderful too, but definitely not as sweet as the ones you get from those closest to you.

Have a great evening!!!!!

Well, another roll call day. I use two tickers, one that I update every day with the current weight and one that I just update on Sundays for roll call. The daily updated one, no one but me sees and it is just another way for me to track how I've done and what my weight loss history looks like. It is a redundant thing since I use FitDay also.......but I love seeing 'progress' so I don't mind all of the redundancy. ;)

Yesterday I was just .5# away from being 30# lost. I was very much hoping that the scale would show that .5 gone this morning so I could move up to the 30# club, but instead of a loss, I enjoyed :x seeing a 1# gain! Bummer! Big time bummer!!!

I know that lousy 1# is water retention (it has to be as I have been on program) but still was disappointed. Oh well, it will come off and it isn't as if I don't still have a lot of weight to lose.....that .5 has lots of buddies to take with it when it goes. :D I'll stick to program and one day, soon, I'll be saying a forever farewell to it--and much more weight (positive attitude is being worked on here ;) ).

Well, that is my update. Guess it is time to get off the 'puter.

Tawanda~ That very same thing happened to me last week. I completely understand. I know slow weeks are frustrating, I've had my share. Don't worry about being upset about it. I think that is somewhat normal. At least I hope it's normal because I'm always upset about it. ;)

The good news is.....you are remaining compliant and the weight cannot stay. As someone else once said on here. "I will just have to be more stubborn than the scale." I'm a pretty stubborn person, so I think I can outlast that old piece of metal.

You're doing so well, Tawanda. Just hang in there, girl!!!

Tawanda, dont' fret, the scale will move. I have noticed that as I have less to loose, the way the weight comes off is different. In the beginning I could see a little nudge on the scale everyday. Now I will have several days with nothing, then drop a couple of pounds.

Chin up.! ;)

MMT is a pretty uplifting place to visit and to read. :)

I just finished my L & G. Had a good day (with MF and just a good day overall). Today to church I wore an outfit that I've not worn for about 2 years because it was too small. Right now I'm wearing a track suit that I've not been able to wear for a couple years, too. It feels so good to be getting into my 'old' clothes again. I bought quite a few new things back in the summer of 2004 when I was losing weight on Atkins. I didn't get much use out of them ;) since I quit following the Atkins program and began eating too much of junk type foods once again. This time, I will be setting these clothes aside when they become too baggy to wear. Not because I became too large for them.

I kind of wish I hadn't bought so many things back in 2004.......now I have no excuse to go out to try on and buy smaller sizes as my clothes get too baggy. I just am going shopping in my own closets..... :?

Oh well, I'm saving money (good thing) and also enjoying wearing some of the things that I've gazed wistfully at for awhile. ;)

I've not done much replying to others today---I feel kind of bad about that but I'm just not in the mood to sit in this chair for too long today. Sorry.

Hope everyone had a great day!
