Hi Twanda,

I know I don't come around much anymore but believe me I still need the help. Just going through so much now, like I'm sure many of you are, but disgusted with myself. I've seem to have lost that momentum you have when you first start and I can't seem to get that 100% OP day under my belt.

How are things with you. If you are still here I'm assuming you are doing o.k.

You have always been so supportive.

Hi Norma! Sorry to read that you've been struggling and having to fight some regained pounds. I am doing the same.

I've found that losing the weight isn't the end of the battle or the weight loss journey. I still have a lot to learn about myself, my food triggers, portion control (I so easily slip on that one), food choices.....the list is long and there is a lot to learn.

So---what are our choices while we continue to learn, to put what we learn into practice? We just keep working our way on the journey. Some days are much harder than others, but it is a battle worth fighting and worth winning.

Hey, T! Just stopping by to say hi and see how you were doing. Sorry you''re struggling a bit, but I guess that never ends, huh?

Getting to goal is the easier part (not easy, of course, but easier). Staying there and making the right choices day in and day out - and without the excitement of dropping pounds or getting compliments - is the tough part.

Hi TEE,
Just thought I'd stop by to tell you HI! And so happy you are hanging in there and maintaining. Proud of you.
It's been a while since I posted, but I promise, I'm still around....
I'm just a tad above goal weight, but losing slowly to get below that magic number. And happy to say, I'm in most of my skinny clothes now and really looking forward to colder weather so I can bring out some of my more fun winter things.
I see you are still a busy, busy girl, so do try to take it easy if you can.

Hi Little 'bette and Pam! I'm here, I've been a bit busy but reading most days and write a little bit on occasion........

I will admit to being less comfortable here since the nastiness months ago. I felt that there were too many who jumped into it just so they could be a part of beating up someone who admitted to having mental health issues.

I do admit that the person could be abrasive at times, but they also offered a lot of encouragement and assistance to others daily.

I was able to look past the occasional abrasiveness, out of compassion for what the individual goes through each day of their life, I couldn't imagine having to deal with such complex mental illness/problems ---I figured the abrasiveness was happening at times when the medication wasn't keeping up with the disease.

I was disappointed in the lack of compassion shown by many. Portions of what this person had done or said in the past were brought forward as jokes, pictures and ridicule. I was amazed and dismayed at how many people jumped in with their own jabs at this ill person.

I was also disappointed that anyone sticking up for this person became the subject of ridicule and nasty pictures/jokes.

This site was no longer a safe, enjoyable or welcoming place during this time, so I withdrew as I had no intention of joining in with those who were cruel and not compassionate.

I have no problem with those who did not want to interact with this person any longer, but I did and do have a problem with people who purposefully went out of their way to ridicule and be nasty. Those who encouraged them by laughing along with them -- well, I lost a lot of respect for them.

I do know of a few others who stopped posting or who left the site because of this time. I am not certain how many of those people still come and read, but no longer feel safe in sharing themselves and their feelings here.

So.......that is something that has been, on occasion, weighing heavy on my mind/heart whenever I read about people saying how quiet the site is and how things have changed.

I don't know what it will take for things to pick up here.......maybe time and maybe just waiting until an new influx of members arrive.

I heard through Jo about the nastiness, which happened while I was gone, and although I doubt I could have made a difference I wish I'd been here to side with the person in question. She was abrasive, but brave beyond belief to share the way she did, and never less than honest, and I miss her (and Jo).

I don't know who the offenders were but I hope those who are still active here were not among them - I feel safe coming here, and I hope it will build up again as you said.

On another note - great to hear from you and I hope you are happy and well in your every day life. :)

A week ago I began working out. I'm doing a DVD program and following the sequence of workouts that is suggested for beginners. Along with the fast paced DVD workout I am also walking (3.5 mph) for 20 minutes.

I'm feeling very good about where I am at on the scale--so some positives going on here.

Nothing much to report.......I'm still exercising and still playing with the same 4-5# over and over. I decided that I want to drop down lower than goal....but I need to get these extra lousy yo-yo pounds off first. I'm hoping my daily exercising will help me drop down well below my goal weight and see how I feel at the lower goal.......

Ha. I keep lowering my goal, too. I finished here at 130, but then I decided to go for 125, then I started thinking 120, and now I'm thinking it might even be 115. Ugh.

But it can't hurt to drop down further and just see what you think and how easy/tough it is to maintain.

You guys are so awesome! Here I was thinking about UPPING my goal to something I KNOW I could maintain, but I've decided I'd like to SEE my original goal before making any final decisions!

I'm already at the point where people are telling me I look FINE now, but I'm not even in the healthy range on the BMI chart.

Thanks for being such an influence as a maintainer and also being a reminder that once we reach goal, we still have to WORK to maintain the hard losses!

Glad you're posting, thanks for the inspiration!

Good morning!

I just finished some Tomato soup --not at all my favorite choice for supplement but I was dealing with the hungries and thought something hot might help me get through to lunch time. I've been having trouble with the head hungries and the old 'one bite/serving/day of poor choices, etc....' won't matter.

Well, poor choices do matter....as does one poor choice bite, or serving or day.....for me it is the slippery slope to a binge. (This is part of my self talk lately).

:) I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

Good job Tawanda on choosing the Tomato Soup. It's wonderful to see that you are still doing well. I am starting all over again so at least you are not where I am at... I am on Day 4 and trying to stay focused.

Hope everything else is going well.
