Hey Tawanda,

I don't want to add to your confusion about staying or leaving but I do want to let you know that you have been a continual source of inspiration for me since I came to the boards. Your determination even through stalls is admirable and you always have kind and uplifting words for me and others. Hol's post resonated with me, too, both as an offender and as someone who struggles to hear how easy it is for people to get off and lose weight again so quickly once they get back on. I know you will do what is best for you so I want to thank you for your support so far and I hope we can continue to support each other to goal!

Hope you're having a peaceful and pleasant Sunday evening

IMHO one who "enables" gives power to another by making something feasible or possible. Do you REALLY believe anyone here has that kind of power? I hope not! Supporting people who struggle means meeting them at the place where they are. Sometimes people are doing the best they can do right now (off-plan eating included). Offering them support has the potential of affirming them in their weakness--emphasizing the good they are doing to improve. Oh that we would all have been created perfect!

When we become jealous of others we are setting the ground work for self-sabatoge. "If they can do it, why can't I?" It is more productive (and good use of energy) to remain focused on our personal MF journey ... just my unsolicited 2-cents.

Hope your discernment goes well and that you reach a place of peace in your decision making. :pet:

I never thought of this. What if they altered the journals - locked them to posts from anyone but the originator of the journal thread, and all conversation had to happen through PMs? And then if you had something and wanted the opinion of the whole group, you could post on another thread. Just a thought.

Has it really come to that? I do use my journal to record my thoughts and pictures during this journey and don't mind the comments and support of others along the way. Am I the only one who feels this way? I think if someone wants their journal locked they should simply ask others not to respond to their posts there. Or if they don't like the way the conversation is going they could have the balls to say "Look, I don't want to talk about this. Please respect my wishes." Or perhaps there is a way Unca can make the thread locked to all but the journaler. I believe what Nickie is calling our "conversation" just occuring through PM would be a great loss to the board. Sometimes these conversations have points of view or thoughts which could be really helpful. We never know how what we say can impact a newcomer or even an oldtimer.

Why can't they be both? Mine is a place where I write my thoughts. Have I hurt the group that way?

Hey Little T,

just flying by to let you know that Ive requested my journal to be removed.

In my quest to look at the glass 1/2 full, to try and be the effervesant bubble, to be here now, to simply put on a happy face, Ive decided to
keep my thoughts to myself.

Ill keep doing mf to goal, and record my weekly weight, and will put this baby to bed.
hugs and loves,
hb

T, you just talked me into staying, so you CAN'T leave.

I like the journals, though. I just have started avoiding the ones that make me a little crazy. (And if you don't respond to folks who post in your journal, they tend to go away. Not that I've ever done that ...)

(And btw, for everyone, re: the great heinie debate, I'm a copy editor. It's my JOB to be a pain in the however-you-want-to-spell-it-but-the-right-way-is-heinie. )

Sorry to hear holberry's removed her journal, and especially sorry to hear it after it's gone, so I can't see what the heck has everyone up in arms.

Aaaaaanyway, back to Tawanda's regularly scheduled journal. How are the dogs doing, T? Are they very old?

LOL. Well, no, I figured THAT out for myself. It's the Great Enabling Debate of 2007. About which I'm just going to keep my mouth shut for once. (OK, everyone, pick your jaws up off the ground.)

I'm a little surprised that you would want to leave when you were the one who just recently asked me where I'd been. I also like when people respond to my journal. I may be writing my thoughts but I really appreciate when someone responds, makes me feel I'm not alone and someone cares what I'm feeling.

I see you and I are around the same weight and I'm also desperate to get into the 140's. Probably had I not gotten sloppy I would be there too.

I hope you reconsider and stay. I thank you for getting me into journaling again.

I'm here and reading.

Didn't have the babies yesterday so nothing to report there and if it is the furbabies that Robin wondered about , they are doing fine. I need to take one of them to the vet on Monday to have the stitches in his eyelid removed, otherwise they are okay. It has been an interesting battle to get the pills down them twice a day (one is getting 2 pills a day and the other is getting 5 a day), they are pretty much too clever to fall for the same 'hide in the food' trick that I've been using so I'm trying to out wit them....not always easy. ;)

Weight doing wonderfully and have been doing great on the program for the last couple of days. I just needed to step back until I was able to get my temper controlled, my attitude adjusted and my sense of humor returned.

Norma, we're going to hit goal and soon!! :D
