I removed the 100 day cheat free challenge gif from my signature line as it bothered me to see it daily when I so seldom drink all the water and because of the guilt I felt about the days that I was on the challenge and having nibbles. I don't like guilt and I don't like being reminded that I'm not compliant most days in my water consumption. So.......I added the other saying and removed the gif. I like being reminded that I'd rather not be feeling regret instead of feeling like a failure because I don't drink all of my water or because I had a number of days in the last month where I had nibbles or extra bar(s). I know I didn't have to explain about removing the gif, but I just thought I'd journal about removing it in case anyone noticed & wondered what was up with me.

Oh, I love that line : "The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret"

It's so true but OH SO EASY TO FORGET  :x.

I guess that's why it's good to have reminders like that :-P.

Anyway, obviously we need to be very vigilant, but, just don't beat yourself up about this. This is the one area I get concerned about while on a strict eating regime : "oh no, I ate an extra stick of celery, I am such an idiot and failure and have done something unhealthy for myself !!" -- that kind of slavery to an "ideal" is NOT healthy and the content of that line is an utter lie ! Well, not that you are being quite like that :-P , just keep it in perspective, that's all :).

You know what you want anyway, and you are willing to take the necessary stand for it ! That's what this is all about and that's healthy. There really should be nothing but strengthening and confidence building in learning these things, imo. You are doing wonderfully, Tawanda, just keep it up :).

I'm so happy about your NSVs! That is fabulous, not being recognized. I think it happened to me the other day but it was a person I'm not exactly close to so he could have just been ignoring me.

The challenge was never meant to induce guilt. I know you're with us in spirit - remember, for most it's about just doing the best you can in these 100 days. And I know you are doing that.

And like Karli said, you haven't done anything bad at all. Maybe you didn't meet your personal idea of perfection but you've done nothing unhealthy for yourself.

Enjoy your weekend!

I hate it when that happens! But a loss is a loss. Patience.

Weight the same this morning but my ring is very tight so I'm hoping to see a nice loss tomorrow morning. I drank 12 cups of water yesterday which was a major feat in that I spent about 5 hours in a car and then about 8 hours total at 2 different picnic gatherings. I ate nothing at the first party (had my supplements in the car as I drove to the party) and at the second party I made a small salad out of the veggies that came with the Subway (restraunt chain) sandwich platters. There wasn't much to choose from so I had the shredded lettuce, some tomato slices and picked a tiny bit of other veggies because I wasn't sure if they were program 'okay' or not...and then I also took the meat/cheese out of two 3" pieces of sandwich (the sandwiches came with meat & cheese on then and were 'dry', then everyone added whatever they wanted on the sandwich they wanted). I figured I was consuming quite a bit of sodium over what I normally would have so wasn't surprised that my ring was uncomfortably tight. I was astounded at the amount of water I drank prior to having the 'subway salad'.....about 10 cups and then had another 2 cups after eating it (so that I wouldn't think about the b'day cake---it didn't look good, but I thought the home-made frosting would be great to run my fingers through,)

Maybe tomorrow I'll see the scale begin a downward slide again. Babies here today and tomorrow, so that is my life......oh, and catching up on laundry, etc. :?

good morning to my friend from the North :D
Im thinkking this is the summer of green tomatoes, eh?

If you are interested, the Clark County Fair has a website with a activity schedule. IM not showing, but my friend from way up North is judging this weekend. I like to hang out amoung llamas and their owners.

Take care today, and flush that sodium away.
good job on so much h20 yesterday.
hugs,
hol

Congrats on the water and the smart food choices with what you were given. I hate Subway now because I went there for a L&G and to get enough oz of chicken my salad was over 9 bucks! Have a good day!

158.5#

Frustrating day yesterday and I ended up coming home from town with my 3.5 year old grandchild unexpectedly and also called to help at the twins' doctor appointment tomorrow morning. I need some serious 'me' time so I need to learn to say 'no' real quick.

It is TIME. Practice saying it in the mirror. Put your shoulders back, inhale and exhale on NO. Just practice. Make it firm. You can do this.

T-

Sorry I haven't visited in a while! You definitely have to give "no" a shot. It's refreshing, I swear! I used to be a "yes" person to everything - did anything for anyone, ran every group, was the prez of every dang organization, you name it, I did it. And then a couple years ago I just stopped. I was tired. To the core. So I said no. Over and over. Granted, I suspect the pendulum swung a little too far on the no side, as I think I hit some level of selfishness that exceeded my goal - but you know what? It was healthy. And I don't regret it one bit. In fact, I think that it's what enabled me to do MF, to say "this is about ME." Not anyone else. Yes, it will benefit friends and family, but I'm doing it for ME.

You needed to let everyone know that you will be of no good use to them if you don't take care of you. And now, before you say yes to ANYTHING, really give it thought. Do you WANT to do it? I know - can you imagine asking such a ridiculous question? :-) Tawanda, you should WANT to do these things, or don't do them. You've given of yourself freely, and now you must take freely.

Be well.
