I agree with you Katie I too used to be a Diet Coke fanatic and now it tastes very sweet to me. I told my family that my taste buds must be changing cause all the no fat no carb foods are tasting wonderful to me.

Keep shakin

I can honestly say I have never had regular COke, but my mom and brothers have always told me diet tastes sweeter than regular. I buy Sierra Mist Free and keep dilluting with lots of ice, so I am sure that cuts down on the sweetness.

Tastes change

Postby Jan » January 30th, 2006, 7:46 pm

Yup, our tastes do change. Americans generally like three things. The taste of sugar, salt and fat or a combination thereof. As you progress on program you are re-educating your taste buds. That's a good thing so that when you are on maintenance you're not sooooo tempted. :D

Does Diet Coke Zero taste diff??

I was a Diet-Coke-a-holic, but since starting Medifast - I haven't really been craving the coke! I still have one first thing in the morning though - It's like my coffee - I don't do coffee, but love the bubbles in the am - but I used to consume easily about 4 or so cans a day if not more sometimes, Now it's pretty much that morning one - unless I'm out or something!!

I did NOT like the diet coke w/splenda - I must be too used to the regular diet coke - I use splenda in lots of things and it just didn't 'go' with my diet coke taste.

But I have not tried the Zero one - does that have splenda?

Cheers!

Hi Maria,
I think that Zero is the Splenda but it just seems not as sweet to me, more like 8) "the real thing". I only allow myself 1 a day though & that's after I've had all my water. Probably the equivalent to having a drink after dinner or a cigarette (I don't drink or smoke) ;)

Stela

You sound a whole lot like myself. If I want a Diet Soda I make myself wait till I have had all my water for the day. I look at it as sort of a reward.
