Hi,
Just wanted to ask what the sweet taste is in my mouth when I am not eating. One of my friends describes it as a bit metallic but I taste a sweetness. Also, I have a question about salsa. Is it allowed and if so how much?

I have read that the sweet taste is a good thing. It means your body is in the ketosis stage. (If i am wrong I please let me know)

As far as Salsa I would love to know that as well.

Yep, that taste is ketosis. It's a good thing.

As for salsa, it used to be allowed, till a few months ago. I don't know why it was removed from the list. A lot of us old-timers still use it regularly (I usually have a tablespoon in my chili or broccoli soup), but others won't eat anything that's not in the current Quick Start Guide. So I guess it's up to you.

I used to use salsa when it was allowed. It never slowed my weight loss that I know of. I am one of the anal ones who will not use anything not in the Quick Start book so I don't use it anymore but I think Robin is right in that it is really up to you. I would suggest that you use it in moderation if you use it and don't use it with tortilla chips!

Thanks for all the great advice. I think I will use salsa sparingly if at all. Maybe I will stick with a bit of tabassco. That should spice things up a bit.

Metallic taste is usually a fillin in the tooth issue. I also heard it was a sign of something worse, but we'll ignore that for nowI use salsa on occasion if I rememebr I have it in the house. Usually, I don't bother, but I make up for the taste I want in additional spices
