Wow, you guys were not joking....this forum has been pretty dead. I hope it picks up.

Well I had a good day today. I had a cheetos attack earlier in the day - cheetos can be a downfall for me (the only time I seem to crave them is when I am on MF otherwise I rarely eat them) - however, I worked through it and remembered what T said in one of her posts about wanting two things that contradict each other but the one we want most will win out each time. I had to remind myself that losing weight is more important than those cheetos - that the cheetos would only satisfy me for 5 minutes. Well it was time for a MF supplement so I had chocolate pudding instead. But believe - wanting those cheetos was winning there for a few minutes.

I hope everybody is having a successful MF day.

Well put Suz! Don't ruin what you want the most with something you want at the moment. Remember how great those new jeans will feel. Trust me, they will feel better than the cheetos taste!!!

Great job on resisting. It gets easier with practice, believe me.

Suzy, I have to remind myself, too often, that the stores are probably always going to have Cheetos (or whatever else I might be salivating over). I can buy a bag, a candy bar, an ice cream cone.....etc., whenever I really do want it and WHEN I won't beat myself up over having it. I don't always win over that inner brat (she is loud and obnoxious!!) but it works some of the time...

Again, glad to see you back!

Hey Suzy!

Thanks for stoppin' by my journal! Welcome!

I found a trick on another webstite to help me with salt cravings. Potato chips and french fries are a biggie for me! So when the craving hits, I lick a boullion cube. Sounds totally gross, I know! Start with a mild one, like chicken. You can't get through a whole cube, but by the time you get tired of it, you won't be craving salt anymore! It has something to do with electrolyte imbalances that can sometimes happen with MF.

Congrats on getting started and finding the board!

Thanks guys for the encouragment and the tip about the bullion cube. I will have to remember that.

Been having a busy weekend. My son had two soccer games this morning then I was off the get my haircut. I was standing in the beauty salon and was just walking around looking at products while I was waiting for my haircut. I realized that in the past couple of days, I am starting to feel really good. My energy levels are coming up and my whole attitude doesn't seem so gloomy. I realized that I really missed feeling like this - and I remembered feeling like this before on MF. (It's even that time of the month for me). I am hoping and praying that I can remember that moment anytime I feel like going off program. I am not saying that this is easy - it's really hard the second time around.

The day is so gorgeous outside today that I took advantage of it and went for a bike ride. It was so awesome. If only this weather would stay...it seems like winter just ended. I don't know what your winter was like last winter but we received over 100 inches of snow for the season and are claiming we are supposed to repeat it again this year...yikes!!

My oldest daughter just dropped off my grandson. We have babysitting duty tonight. However, my son, is starting to run a fever. So we might have an interesting night. I hope everybody is having a great weekend. We have another soccer game tomorrow but if he is still sick - it looks like we won't be going. My youngest daughter is begging me to get off the computer so that I can take her to a sleepover. Hubby?!?!?...maybe he can take her....

Hi, Suzy, glad to hear you're feeling "up" and cool that you even went for the bike ride, which is one fantastic way to have one's eyes opened up on such a fine day. I'm in VA and it was beautiful here, too. Makes one glad to be alive and to be making some kind of personal progress with a better pattern of eating. With LESS eating, I find I have lots more time to think of how to spend my time. With LESS dread of another fat workday ahead, I have more enthusiasm of my time off. I really need a break because I was discouraged for a long time by feeling "dumpy". Just started, just 3 days of control so far, but I'm hoping to turn it into more.

STEP AWAY FROM THE CHEETOS! (said with a cop voice)! LOL! I know the feeling, I've been having Mac & Cheese dreams...only have those when on MF!

You can get through it...it's only fried corn with fake cheese on it...not as good as the fantasy!

Glad you're back! Missed you!

Hello everybody!! I hope everybody is having a happy Monday.

I had a very rough week last week and just blew it. I woke up today feeling terrible: 1) because I blew it again and 2) I just wasn't feeling good probably from eatting all the foods that were off-program.

Well enough is enough. I have to do this. This second time around is so difficult. But I have to do it. I need to get back to being healthy. Anybody who has had to do this more than once, please give tid bits of advice as to how you did it. The first time around for me - I stayed on plan and did not veer off plan for months. I was so dedicated. This time around it's just so hard. I want to be dedicated but I keep messing up.

My goal right now is to get through one week of total compliance and to come on the message boards daily. Trying to take it day by day until one week goes by. Then I can build off that one week.

I can and will do this.

There are plenty of restarters around, so you should have lots of company!

One day at a time usually works. If you need to, take it three hours at a time. How hard is it to stick to program for just three hours, right?

Robin that's good advice..take it three hours at a time. So far so good today. I started getting a headache right after dinner, but took some tylenol and took a walk and all is well. Thanks for the support Robin.

Day 2 - things are going well today. I had to turn down co-workers for lunch today. They went out for Mexican and I am not strong enough yet to just eat my soup while they are eating delicious Mexican food. So I am staying away. I also noticed that when I eat Mexican food, it triggers something in me and I start craving bad foods later in the afternoon - like chocolate. So I think that is one type of food I will need to be cautious about moving forward.

Well I hope everybody is having a wonderful MF day. I am off to make some soup for my lunch.

Congrats on staying away from the Mexican food, SuzyQ!!...that is my downfall. I'm a restarter too, so this time let's try to stick together :)

I can not agree with you more about the mexican food. It also happens with chinese food. You did the right thing. Great Job on day 2
