Survey for medifasters with my stats

Postby 2FeelGood » July 5th, 2006, 6:09 am

Here are my stats:

31 year old, 5'6", starting weight 200#

Now, I was wondering if there are anyone out there with similar stats that would tell me how much they lost in how many months?

My aim is to loose 50# by November 25th! Hope it's doable, considering all the plateaus/slow weeks I am gonna hit!

Thanks

Hi There,
You should be able to do that without tooo many problems. I would guess you'd part with 15 - 20 pounds your first full month on program and then the rest by the end of November. I'm assuming you have no medical problems that would slow you down. The most important thing to do is to be very very compliant. :D Drink your water and if it's not listed in the Quick Start Booklet it's doesn't go in your mouth. :D I'll be watching for you

Thanks for the quick response, Jan. I don't have any medical issues other than hypo-thyroidism. I am on medication for it. Would that slow my progress?

Thanks

Hypothyroidism results in a lowered metabolic rate which can affect weight loss. I'm assuming you are on medication to correct the problem If so, and if you take your medication in the morning, then use a whey based product after taking the medication. I think the standard is to not eat for an hr after the med (if I remember correctly) at that time have whey based product. Hot cocoa, chai or cappuchino work great!! Soy has an adverse effect on the medicationif used to soon. After the first couple of hours soy is fine. Other than that you should do great. Soon we'll be cheering as your pounds are going!!!! I'm not a Dr. so if your Dr. says otherwise be certain to follow his/her advice. I'm just using our protocal

Jan,

Thanks for the response. I will keep your suggestion in mind. I do eat my first meal (usually, oatmeal) after an hour of taking my meds!

2FeelGood, we are very close in stats except age. I guess I could lie about my age! I'm 5'5", 47 years old and my starting weight was 200.5. I've been MF 5 weeks and I just hit 17 lbs lost. I'm also hypothyroid. I have had Hashimoto's since I was 23. Maybe longer, but that's when I was diagnosed. It really didn't affect me much until my late 30's. I was not always real compliant with my meds and I started to gain weight from that and from the beer I liked to drink. I do think that the hypo issue is slowing my weight loss to some degree, but I am still losing. I already feel so much lighter and my too tight clothes are fitting now.

It really just depends on your body. Some people lose more slowly than others, so it's hard to say without knowing your history.

I'm a bit shorter....... however as you can see by my stats, it's COMPLETELY doable. Like others have said - if you stay 100% on the program - the pounds literally fall off you. Be prepared to shop for new clothes along your journal - the old stuff doesn't stick around very long.... neither do the new clothes as we all have found out :)

It's a great feeling
