Thanks Biki,

Alpha,
I know what you mean about feeling smaller...apparently I look smaller too, because friends, family members and people I work with keep commenting about how I look like I'm really dropping the weight this past month...and I haven't lost a pound. But my clothes are fitting better too... Don't know how to 'splain it... but I'll take it.

No weight for me today, since I'm helping my ailing uncle and without a scale. But just wanted to say congrats to all, and I'm sure I'm still maintaining around the same as always. It's been about five months already, if you can believe it!

Hey Unca, add me to the 10 pound club...I have a 4 pound loss for this week. Wow, maybe I should be in "a mood" more often.

Congratulations to all you other losers!

Bikipatra

Ok I take back the obese thing. According to the BMI calculators used by doctors I am no longer obese but I just used my scale with the BMI thingy and it said i was 33, this is annoying

I only care about the doctor's calculations at this point and i'll tell you why. A few months back i went to the doctor for a middle ear infection and extreme dizziness. My doctor was off that day so I had to see one of his associates; the appointment went fine untill the end.

she handed me the paper they always hand you at the end, you know the one you bring to the front desk before you leave? Anyway after 5 years of nursing classes I can read and understand all that gibberish the doctor writes so I usually read it before passing it on. She put on there as the number one #1 diagnosis OBESE!! I didnt hear anything else she said after i read that. And this was after i had already lost 20lbs and brought my liver enzymes down. Let me tell you she is her self overweight. I am just waiting to get my weight down more before i go see her again and she can eat those words and the paper she wrote it on.. lol

Hello I went in for an ear infection!!! and trust me the order of the diagnosis on the sheet matter in the medical world. I would have gotten an F on that paper if i turned it in as Obese being my number 1# diagnosis on a patient complaining of dizziness and pain in the ears!!

I wasn't offended. I meant it is good you are no longer obese. I wrote my mom to tell her when I was no longer MORBIDLY OBESE and just OBESE. (Some charts make that distinction) Those are milestones! I can hardly wait until I am just overweight! Long way to go. One of the things I will love most about losing this weight is that every complaint I take to my doctors will not be blamed on my being FAT. I was having a pain in my leg and was told it must be fat pressing on a nerve. That's the ticket!

I wrote my mom to tell her when I was no longer MORBIDLY OBESE and just OBESE.

OKAY!!!???!!! The whole morbid thing just floors me, me thinks I will look for the numbers that change all that today myself and then wait to get there! I am so blessed my NP (Nurse Prac) is also overweight and we have the calm , frank discussions without the guilt trip, and she can relate in some ways. It is nice to know that I may inspire her, wouldn't that be a gas, getting her on MF?

Keep going guys, one day we will remember when we were fat, not the remember when I fit in those jeans..

I hate that term too. Makes it sound like you could keel over at any moment. Which I guess, sadly, some people do. But it still sounds so pejorative.

The scale read 174.0! YAY! Plateau over...3lbs lost! I have hit some SERIOUS milestones/mini goal with this loss as well...
1. I am now in the 90# club!
2. I just crossed into the upper end of "healthy" on the BMI chart! 24.9!!!

wow healthy that is just awesome!!!

bikipatra
I started out in the morbid obese range and I had even consulted a well know Dr here in new york for gastric bypass. I was cleared for the surgery and everything just needed to stet a date. That was in August of 2006 and I was about 223 then, I lost 20 and then started MF and here I am now this diet is great. My husband lost 20lbs in 3 weeks on MF how fair is that?? he's taking a break now... lol he says it's too hard. he's a vegan though and the food is not too filling.

Great job Dede! I fear the day my body decides to plateau ... but I will remember how courageous you were--and how patient! Congrats on hitting those milestones too! :bravo:
