Sugar free fat free syrup-- MALT

Postby betz » January 28th, 2006, 5:56 pm

Does anyone know any company that makes a sugar free, fat free MALT type of syrup?

Plain or chocolate--I just love the malt flavor!

Thanks!

No, but....

while researching something else, I found a place on-line, Nature's Flavors, that makes malt flavored concentrate. It's one of those organic, vegan places. Actually, they have everything! cranberry, pumpkin, cherry vanilla cola flavor, cotton candy, green apple, nutmeg, kiwi, lemon lime, mai tai, mango, papya, passion fruit, peanut butter, pina colada, pineapple, bubble gum, plum, rum, praline, rootbeer. I swear I have never used the company, but hearing all that ameks me wanna try some out. You can buy buy in 4 or 5 sizes.

Nature's Flavors also has chocolate malt flavored coffee beans. Maybe you can sniff them or make coffee and add it to a cold shake. Coffee brings out the chocolate flavor. I cannot endorse it since the mere smell of coffee leaves me running, but it might work if added to another item, like puddings or shakes.

Sidrah, I went to that website and I think we may have something here. The shipping prices are high, but the total cost is still lower than other syrups.

There is a very large selection of SF flavored syrups, SF malt concentrates, SF salad dressings, etc. They are all carb free, sugar free, and all but the salad dressings are fat free. Looks like most of the salad dressings are 3g fat or less per 2 tbl. serving.

I placed an order, so when it comes I'll provide feedback on the taste.

Didn't see the citric acid thing so, no, I didn't. I ordered 3 salad dressings, egg nog syrup, and malt concentrate. Guess I'll try it first to see if I need it....that is if it comes intact.

Yeah, please give a review. They had so many good looking things that even in small quantities, the flavors seem like they will last. I hope that one shipping error is not indicative of many other customers' dealings. Glad you found it useful

I ordered three malt flavors in the concentrate form:

Malt Flavor
Chocolate Malt Flavor
Malted Mocha Flavor

As I understand it, you only need a drop as it is very concentrated. The shipping seems way too high but I'm too curious about it to let that stop me.

If one drop is truly all that is needed, there is no fat or carbs.

Looking forward to comparing notes with all of you. :)

Just thought I'd give you all an update on my Nature's Flavors order. I ordered on 1/29/06, never heard a thing until 2/17/06. 2 1/2 weeks to process my order! It's supposed to be here on Tuesday, so a total of over 3 weeks. I think they need to improve their turn-a-round time.

I'll let you know how I like the stuff if and when it gets here.

Serendipity-- I had the same experience! I got mine FINALLY (wrote to complain that if you're going to charge 9.00 for shipping 3 little 1 oz bottles at least you could ship it in a timely manner!)

I tried a few shakes with a couple drops. I think I need an eyedropper or something because it's difficult getting a drop to DROP! lol Also, so far I've found that 2 drops..really didn't change the flavor much.

To be continued.... :)

I'm afraid I'm feeling the same way Vicky.

My package was stamped 4.45 for postage/shipping. I paid twice that. Bad enough but to have to wait 2 weeks...with no communication from them at all.

I don't want to reward that kind of service. :/
