Strawberry shake..

Postby Ashes » January 22nd, 2006, 1:32 pm

I was really hesitant to try the strawberry shake, but I did yesterday, and didnt really like it. So today, I mixed it up in the blender, and then put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes or so. Then, I added some splenda and strawberry extract. Then I put it in the blender with ice and mixed till smooth, I absolutely loved it! I'm gonna try the same thing with the orange next!

Just thought I'd share, as many people like new shake "recipes"

:yay:

this is getting SO much easier!

I'm with you! I didn't like the strawberry at first either, however, I put a little splenda, strawberry extract and I feel as if I'm cheating!

I'm glad that you found a way to prepare your strawberry shake the way you like it. It sounds great.

I like the fruity shakes but they must be made with very cold water. I prefer them made in the blender or Bulletized in the Magic Bullet. All of the shakes taste best if we can prepare them and then allow them to ‘rest’ in the refer for about 10 minutes or so. The flavors develop and they taste so much better!

If I am strapped for time and must make a quick and dirty (in the Shaker Jar!), fruity shakes are tastier if we use 2-3 ice cubes to chill the water and then again, wait 10 minutes or so and the shake thickens and tastes fruitier!

IMHO, I think the fruit shakes need a boost – I’d like to see the chemist step up the fruit flave a bit and intensify the flavors.
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...

And just a note. There's no need to toss out a box of something you don't like. Visit the swap area and you're bound to find someone who just LOVES whatever it is you hate.
