A Strange Feeling Came Over Me Today...

Postby mellowmom » May 19th, 2006, 10:48 pm

I was sitting at a theatre watching a movie (Over the Hedge) this afternoon. And suddenly...it came over me...

The almost uncontrollable urge to cross my legs!!

I haven't been able to cross my legs in over a decade, let alone want to cross my legs! Oh, what a feeling! :yippee:

Just thought it's a fun thing to share. I'm sure we all have these little victories that can keep us going when times get tough, or scales get stuck. Would love to hear about all yours as we play this losing game.

Keep shakin,

Carmel

Before I started Medifast it wasn't comfortable to cross my legs, now it's just peachy. I am so happy. :)

That is so cool!! I remember when I was skinny, that's all I ever did was sit with my legs crossed. It was the most comfortable position. Now, I don't remember the last time I even thought about doing that! Good job!!

Hi

I had one of those little victory moments. I walked into our office and said to one of our office girls, "WATCH." I sat down in the chair next to her desk and crossed my legs. She looked at me like I had just grown another nose (she weighs 120 soaking wet) and I explained to her how many years it had been since I had crossed my legs...on purpose for ANY reason. She then started clapping!

These little victories...they all add up, don't they? WTG!

 It is SO much easier isn't it? It used to be a struggle to try and get my leg up and over now, it's easy peasy!! Congrats on this milestone!

Last night I went to an outdoor concert concert put on by the local symphony orchestra. I was sitting there thinking how much thinner my legs were looking and how baggy my newest jeans were getting when I suddenly  remembered your post Carmel. I thought, hmmm...worth a try. Then I very easily and comfortably crossed my legs! I didn't say anything to my hubby, just sat there smiling and thinking, gee..Carmel was right. What a feeling!

Oh, and thanks to the loss of 44 pounds of insulation, I never broke a sweat and it was 95 degrees!

Oh my god, Carmel, that killed me! I totally understand because the last few weeks have brought my own leg crossing epiphany, and now I sit crossed EVERYWHERE! What's most amazing, and this might sound so odd, but I feel like so much more the lady now. I used to either cross my legs like a man, cross down at the ankles, or not at all, but I never felt as feminine, and I love this feeling!

Don't you feel, I don't know, prettier? Is this so silly, or what? I actually feel prettier sitting and waiting anywhere, doctor's offices, theaters, whatever - it's like an air of femininity floated down to me suddenly!

Thanks for the note, I can assume from the replies above that this is a non-scale victory many many many of us can appreciate!
