Sorry, but I'm hiding from this thread.
Still not ready....:(

Hey Biks.....let me know if you're seriously thinking about it, and I'll do the same.
Maybe we can whoop this thing together.

Well, I'm pretty darn sure that it isn't Tim's "issue".
One day at a time though.

Hang in there guys.

Howdy

Postby Ginabobina1969 » September 13th, 2007, 2:34 pm

wanted to chime in and say that on October 3, 2004 I quit smoking with the help of a product called smokeaway, It DID help me quit and stay quit for several months...then I smoked one...quit again for a time, smoked one or two..its all so long I ago I can't remember. What I do remember is that I was a 2 and 1/2 pack a day smoker for about 9 years, usually closer to 3 packs a day.

I really didn't believe I would be able to quit, so the product did help to control my cravings long enough to show me I COULD quit and give me confidence that if I wanted too I could, it was no longer "impossible" in my mind.
I went on to quit for good on September 12, 2005 and just celebrated my 2 years without one puff, yesterday.

I compare medifast and quitting smoking all the time because they both boil down to what you want more in the long run,,, that doughnut now or reaching goal in "however long" that one puff now, or finding yourself freed from the addiction of nicotine. I didn't get either one "right" the first time around...the key is not to give up, no matter how many times you fall off the wagon, get your butt back on and keep going because eventually you WILL get it "right"

Coming off my soapbox...mostly I wanted to share my experience and encourage you to continue trying to quit and believe with everything in your being that you CAN!

Hugs,
Gina

Two weeks without cheating is certainly not TWO YEARS, but Gina's been more inspirational than she realizes! I KNOW I can do this and I know the weight was temporary while I got control of myself and I'll take being sick for a bit if it helps me cough out some of this CRAP I put in myself on purpose!

Unca, it was WAY easier than I expected it to be! You can do it easily if you're ready! You just have to decide when you are! No pressure, I'm just singing and dancing because I'm happy, I don't smell as bad and I'm not as poor!

God, I need to stop. I just reminded myself of Peg Bundy when I was in the kitchen. I was making a shake but smoking a cigarette at the same time. I did it and saved the ciggie and the shake, but it took a lot of effort.
