Five months ago I weighed in the high 180s, smoked nearly a pack a day and was very unhappy. I vowed that by my 35th birthday at the end of July, I would lose 30 pounds, quit smoking and get more active.
Well, here it is 5 months later. My birthday is Sunday. I quit smoking on 3/18/06. I gained some weight from that and started Medifast 4/21/06. I have lost 30 pounds from my original weight, more counting my post-quit smoking pounds. I kept a blog through the whole thing that I have added as a link below.
I can't tell you the sense of pride I feel at accomplishing these goals. I am happier, more outgoing, confident and active!
So what's with the subject line? Well, as part of my birthday celebration, I am allowing myself a cheat break. I took a cheat weekend after 7 weeks on Medifast, and now here I am doing it again after 14 weeks. I am posting here to be accountable and to make sure I will get back on. I start again August 1st.
My original goal of losing 30 pounds has been met, but when I started Medifast, I set an even lower goal. I have more to lose and will be swinging my daintier, smoke-free feet back on the Tuesday wagon. See you then, and thank you Medifast!
