Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and the nice comments about my brood. I think they're gorgeous but I am biased!!
I'm on Day 2 after my big cheat weekend and so far so good, it's small victories for me, like not eating my son's leftover pancakes this morning or nibbling on some goldfish while the kids eat theirs. I started the day doing full fast but did end up having a chicken salad from Baja Fresh. But that's what I love about this, it's the strictness I need right now but does allow me something if I need or want it.
Quick question though on the full fast -- is it 5 meal replacements or 6??
Camille -- I did do MF about 9 years ago and lost 30+ lbs very easily but honestly, just got lazy and didn't stick with it so the pounds came back (well some). Then it was on to Fen-Phen where I lost about 30+ pounds and I also did several times at WW before it finally worked for me. I think I've literally lost and gained over 300 lbs (each way, gained and also lost) during my lifetime, if not more (included baby weight 2x's). Why was I finally able to lose it and maintain? I had a goal, an end result and mine was not wanting to be a fat Mom that my kids would be embarassed about -- I mean, they will ultimately be embarassed of me but I want it to be something other than my weight! So eating a certain way has become a lifestyle, all the previous things I have tried I thought of as a diet, that there was a beginning and an end when there isn't. That's something important to think about with MF as well. Making goal isn't an end but really a beginning to a healthy lifestyle. MF certainly is great for showing us that we don't need a lot of food to keep our bodies moving, I will be remembering this when I start eating again since I am a quantity person. I will personally always have a fat mentality, I will always focus on food so I have to manage that. For me, WW does this long-term as it's a simple plan to help me control my portions. But don't get me wrong, I'm not advertising for WW but their idea of writing everything down, ie tracking points, (which many doctors and nutritionists also suggest) is essential for me, I will NEVER be able to mentally track what I eat. If I don't write it down than it's easily forgotten -- until I get on the scale that is. I've actually been doing that the past 2 days, using my tracker to write down everything I put in my mouth and the calories. I honestly think it has helped me from taking those BLT's -- ie bites, licks and tastes and will help me be successful with MF as well.
Thanks again everyone, I have been reading for some time now and you all inspire me with your dedication!!
