hello out there
gotta say love the little emoticons, some I never seen before.
In 1999, I got ill and due to that gained 150 lbs, until now. I was never super morbidly obese, until I started to gain 20-30 lbs per year. I now weigh 285lbs. I was originally 300 pounds and lost 15 lbs on my own, prior to using Medifast. It took a long time and it was difficult. I have been told by different forums, that once you are morbidly obese, no diet in the world will work. All I can do is give it a try.
I was considering gastric bypass surgery, but wanted to try Medifast again. I took it back in 1990, when there were only 2 flavors chocolate and vanilla. I lost the weight during that year to a slim 130 lbs and successfully kept it off for 9 years, until 1999 in which I became very ill. I have been going over options with my doc including surgery, but want to try something that worked for me before and was successful, now that I am under a MD gastro-intestinal specialist that will help me along the way. I did not like the fact that with gastro-bypass, the weigh lost is so fast that your skin loses elasticity and becomes naturally saggy causing your own flesh to hang in layers and the is no exercise or weight toning in the world that can help tighten it, only option is plastic surgery and that is so pricey. With gastro-bypass the weight loss is so rapid that you need to take protein and vitamins for the rest of your life, have to deal with a lot of risks and complications and skintone not keeping up with the rest of the body.
I had faith as a previous user on Medifast and feel that I can have faith now, although last time, I was 50 pounds overweight and now I am 165 lbs overweight. This will a long term regime for me, but all I have right now is time and to do things safely and carefully. I know there will be times that I will lose and there will be times that I hit a plateau and will not lose anything, but I won't give up. Once I hit goal, it is a matter of healthy eating and and food intake.
I have taken my "before" pic. Now let's see how those before and after pics will be for me.
