Starting over again

Postby tootsie » January 5th, 2005, 10:03 am

Hello fellow Medifasters,
I began the program on Dec. 14; with the holidays, I fell out of the shaker. It's midmorning I'm enjoying a shake. I'm in this for long haul, need to lose 50#. Perhaps I shouldn't offer advice, but on this long journey we all need a little pampering. I brought out a special large water goblet for shakes & water, a china cup and saucer for broth and a matching soup bowl for my soup. These little extras make me feel cared for.
This is only my third day and am still feeling alittle hungry. Last night my dog's Science Diet was looking good!

Mary Ann, you CAN do it. It’s a HUGE change of events, when you are used to eating what and when you want. It is a mind altering life change, and it is NOT easy, but it is doable.

There are lots of things you can do to stave off the hunger twangs…. Diet soda is a life saver, Crystal light, flavored carbonated waters, a stick or 3 of celery etc… I am still a huge Wal-Mart diet soda guy (cheap and easy). The carbonation actually makes you feel full. When I get the hunger, (I am on maintenance for over a year now) I guzzle down a full 12oz can, and 5 mins later I am good.

Your stomach thinks it is hungry, sending the signal to the brain = equating to “gimme the big mac now” If you just wait 15-20 mins, the cravings actually go away. TV is a terrible thing to see while in the beginning stages, commercials just make you think you are getting the raw end of the deal, and bring on huge food cravings, especially during commercials…

Be patient, be strong. Be patient. AS you begin to see the weight come off, and FEEL the difference, this alone will make it MORE worthwhile.

It will work…..

Laughing about the Science Diet thing, I remember those days….. NO LICKING THE DOGS BOWL!!

Hello Tootsie ~

We're tootin' the Medi-horn for you as you enter the blessed THIRD DAY of the last weight loss program you ever have to endure.

This is IT. No more sliding out of the shaker jar for you, Mary Ann.

Keep a grip on your water goblet, enjoy your soup and bouillon and slowly sip your shake, enjoying its flavor and texture. I am pleased to see that you are thinking of ways to take care of your needs.

Life is so much better living in a thinner healthier bod.
