is it ok to split proteins?

Postby stacie4 » June 15th, 2007, 7:31 am

Is it ok to split proteins? Like last night I had a grilled burger and I buy the frozen ones, well after it was grilled it was only like 2.5 oz. So i ate the white only from a boiled egg for some added protein. What do you guys think?

You should have eaten the whole egg.

It's fine to do that, but you should eat the full protein allotment. Unless it's changed (there have been several changes to the Quick Start Guide since I was on program), two whole eggs qualifies as a lean serving. So if you had half a serving of beef, you should have had half a serving of eggs, too (or one whole egg).

Actually 3 eggs is a serving that doesnt require a fat allotment but 2 eggs does. Since she was eating beef, and as we both said before, she should have eaten the whole egg in my opinion.

so technically it is ok to have eggs? What do you mean by 2 with fat or 3 without? I just ate the white for protein, i thought the yellow was the bad part. I wish I would have ate the full amount of protein in a burger, YUM :o)

Read the Quickstart Guide and all will be made clear.

Hi Stacie... have you received the new Quick Start Guide? It has the Lean spelled out clearly now with Lean, Leaner, and Leanest options as well as if you are having something from the Leaner category you need to add in 1 serving of fat (like using a bit of oil to cook with), or 2 servings if having something in the Leanest category.
There is also another file that has additional meatless options not listed in the Quick Start Guide. These are available for download if you don't have them currently. I know Unca has a link to it here somewhere, but now I can't find it.

I have never gotten the quick start guide and I have tried to look at the link you guys have posted, but nothing ever comes up, unless it takes a really long time to come up. We do have Adobe, so i don't know what the problem is. Do you guys know of another way I can get it??

They usually include one in every order. But you can just call the company and have them send you one. Or you can go to the Medifast site (medifast1 dot com), click on Tools & Community and then "downloads."

Go to medifastdiet dot com and look at the downloads section and it is there. The link I provided is a good one.

Well my DH is printing it at his work for me and he has to look at our computer to see what the problem is. Who ever said computers made life easier--not in my house ha-ha. Thanks.
