I just went and looked at the site and it doesn't tell you if you have more if there is more calories. They even give recipes for using more but they don't mention more calories. Interesting..I'm sure the info is out there somewhere.

It's the way things are portrayed from people and how it is said very snooty like....

Tony -- snooty? If you've read more than one post of mine, you would in no way, shape, or form describe me as snooty. That's just laughable. However, if that's your opinion, it's all good. :)

That said -- I still disagree with you about letting the 9 vs. 10 carbs statement go. It's completely different from correcting one's spelling -- in this context, that is just pointless. And, yes, there is a difference between less and more, as you point out, but again -- the thread was about accurate information regarding the carb count. Had the post been about how to spell a certain word and an incorrect response had been offered, I likely would've pointed that out as well. So, if that's being snooty -- well, then, color me snooty.

Look, this is an open forum. Information is solicited, provided, and bantered about. If a posting party is so sensitive to outside input, that party might want to reconsider placing their comments in an open forum where a perceived slight might occur.

...in my humble opinion.

ahh I just found it, it's 20 calories for one teaspoon of the spray and 2 grams of fat.

BTW, guys, I dug up my old bottle of SweetzFree (liquid Splenda, basically, with no carbs because it lacks the carby fillers in granulated Splenda), and it did a fabulous job on my oatmeal. One drop equals 1.5 teaspoons of sugar. I bought it online a few years ago when I was on Atkins but had forgotten all about it.

(And I'm SO glad, in a perverse way, to see an argument that DOESN'T involve me for a change!!!)

I looked up the SweetzFree last night. They have ordering "windows". The next one is open on August 20. I am going to order some. It really was pretty inexpensive, since it goes so fast.

BTW--Sojourner--I think you have got to be one of the MOST snooty people on the forum. HAHA Not really. I think the whole thing was just misunderstood. No sweat! Ya'll be nice. Gosh, maybe sometimes some of the things I say may sound snooty to someone who really doesn't know me. I occassionally have a quite twisted sense of humor. It takes some of every kind.

You ARE snooty, supermom. I wasn't gonna' say anything, but now the jig is up my friend. My snooty, snooty friend. :D

And what about that Robin chick? She is enjoying her moment of schadenfreude way too much!! (how's that for a high falutin' word?!) Ah well, at least my spelling and punctuation are usually pretty good! ;)

Hey wait a minute! Who was arguing anyway? "Not I," said Snooty Sandy. I was merely having a lively discussion with a fellow weight loss traveler on the road to Thinville. Please. I'm Mexican, Italian, Navajo Indian, Scorpio, a preacher's kid, a middle child, a cop's wife, and I have five sisters - that weren't nuthin' girl. Shoot. In my book, arguing involves blood and guts -- maybe a little visit from my Uncle Gianni, capice? AND I know Mexican Judo. Ju don't know if I haf knife, ju don't know if I haf gun!! (padump pum [rimshot])

Ummmm, if you're gonna gossip about a forum member, please use plain old english. I am not bilingual. I'm hardly monolingual at times and I don't wanna be left out.

I'm one of 7 kids, middle child, preacher's kid, etc. etc. I often shock my husband. He think's I'm fighting when I'm only getting warmed up. If he could have been a fly on the wall in my house back when I was being reared, he never would have married me.......he has tamed me quite a bit, lol.

Hmph. I heard that, and I DO know what it means. Grrrrr.

Aaaaanyway, here's the actual FDA regulation, courtesy of the local FDA rep:

21 CFR 101.9(c)(6) states:
"Carbohydrate, total" or "Total carbohydrate": A statement of the number of grams of total carbohydrate in a serving expressed to the nearest gram, except that if a serving contains less than 1 gram, the statement "Contains less than 1 gram" or "less than 1 gram" may be used as an alternative, or if the serving contains less than 0.5 gram, the content may be expressed as zero. Total carbohydrate content shall be calculated by subtraction of the sum of the crude protein, total fat, moisture, and ash from the total weight of the food. This calculation method is described in A. L. Merrill and B. K. Watt, "Energy Value of Foods--Basis and Derivation," USDA Handbook 74 (slightly revised 1973) pp. 2 and 3, which is incorporated by reference in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 552(a) and 1 CFR part 51 (the availability of this incorporation by reference is given in paragraph (c)(1)(i)(A) of this section).

DogMa ~ Very interesting; however, the splenda people must be utilizing another loophole b/c they advertise this product as no calories as opposed to no carbs.

LOL Jo!
Schadenfreude: a German phrase meaning to derive pleasure from another's misfortune (a combination of the German words for misfortune and joy).

Wow! Your whole last paragraph could've been written by moi--well, except for the part about having been tamed! My DH is the eldest of three, with two sisters. The first sister is only 15 months younger than he, so they were (and still are!) best friends; and his baby sister is six years his junior, so she was just that--the doted upon, cute baby sister. He's always gotten along great with both of them, and they were reared by stable, loving, nurturing parents and had an idyllic childhood experience. MY siblings however (five sisters and one brother), fought like...well, the wild animals that we were! DH would've probably run screaming from my childhood home of craziness! I was not just being facetious when I spoke of arguing involving blood and guts! Fortunately, I think I expended all of the uncontrolled emoting alloted to each individual very early on in my life, so now I tend to be really calm most of the time. So even if I am upset (which is a really rare occurrence), it's hard to tell by either my voice or affect. He's gotten pretty good at deciphering the warning signs by now--most of the time, anyway! Those times when I truly am angry though...ay carumba!! (Sorry, I forgot about your monolinguality ;) -- tranlation: HOLY CRAP!!)

Robin & Laurie: four more days for the opening of the SweetzFree window! Thanks to both of you for the info...that's definitely something to keep handy and in stock. To be honest, I don't even use Splenda that much--maybe a half a packet in my oatmeal now and then--and I'm not counting carbs at all (that's amusingly ironic, isn't it? :D).

Mike: your cracking up cracked me up!! :tears:
