SOOOO Hungry!! Need some suggestions!!

Postby sunshinekpc » March 28th, 2007, 2:10 pm

I have been following the program faithfully for a full 3 days now and I am soooo hungry today I could probley eat a whole lot of bad things right now, if they were in front of me. I am getting ready to eat an oatmeal, (which was planned) but my mouth is watering for some crackers, chips or something "bad". So my question for all you MF experts is what do you do when you feel like you can not resist temptation and are really wanting something other than MF meals. I would have a bar, but I am out and my shipment is on the way, somewhere, but not here, where I need them! I think I can resist, just by eating some SF hard candy and gum, but what does everyone else do when this happens??

Water works for me too ...
also, I usually have MF Crackers and Soy Crisps on hand so when I feel in a  salty-cruchy-chewy mood I can fall back on them as a snack.

Coffee, tea, or if absolutely necessary, an extra serving of soy crisps.

Water water water and DISTRACT yourself. Walk away. Get out of the house if you can. Do SOMETHING until it's time for your next suppy.

Gum can be good, too - and a snack if you're really dying (like I was trying not to have a snack all week since I just cheated over the weekend - but I had to have one today or I was going to eat my arm).

Stay strong! The longer you are compliant the easier it really does get. This day 3 is like getting over the hump and then it's downhill skiing.

2 of the biggest pickles you can find in the jar....spicy ones work for me...they almost burn my lips so I have 16oz of COLD water and it seems to make the hungry horrors go away.

Lots and lots of water. Decaf tea. My first time on the program, crying and prayer. Hey, it worked that day.

I treat myself to a variety of different flavors of Crystal Light. I like a couple of big, salty olives, too.

I used boullion. The hot liquid seemed to help and the flavour made me feel like I was eating.

Also, during the first week or so, if you just can't take it, have another supplement and it won't hurt anything.

I too have some boullion.

But alot of times if I just distract myself from the situation, those food cravings go away and I'm able to continue with my normal program schedule. Just take it 20 minutes at a time.

You are so close to getting to the point where those cravings will be going away. You will be amazed.... especially when you have to remind yourself to eat. Hang in there........ You are ALMOST to that point!!

My answer is to keep busy. Its when I have downtime and am doing nothing when I feel (or rather think) I'm hungry. I know I'm not really hungry, but those old habits die hard.
The best thing for me is to stay active and want to stay active.

You might need another supplement like Jo says...Magic Bullet with ice works well....like a milkshake and fills you up to take the edge off wanting to eat something bad after all your hard work.

Yesterday I had my supplement at lunch and in an hour, I was hungry again. It was all I could do not to eat another supplement. I told myself to wait an hour and got myself busy at work. Before I knew it, it was three hours later and I wasn't starving like I was. I guess my point is, sometimes we think we are starving.... but we really aren't. It's our bad habits disguising itself.
