Some thoughts about "Diets"

Postby Unca_Tim » October 31st, 2003, 3:35 pm

I'm going to kick off the maintenance forum with some thoughts about so-called "Diets".

How many times have we've heard, "Oh, i've tried that diet and it doesn't work"?
Most times the dialog leading up to this remark is, "Have you ever tried (insert the latest fad diet)"?

"Did you lose weight on (the latest fad diet)".
"Yes, i lost 44 pounds in a couple months"

hmmmm...but the diet doesn't work?

My point here is that any diet has some effect on us. Like the old saying goes, we are what we eat. Finding a diet that is healthy and provides all the nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc... is something else. You can probably eat nothing but golf balls (remember the fat burning grapefruit and cabbage diets?) and lose weight, but I wouldn't recommend it.

That's what's so great about Medifast. Everything is there. Balanced and perfected by physicians for years now and there's no doubt in my mind that if you follow it, you will succeed.
But then what?

This thread will be dedicated to all the ways we each individually deal with the impulses habits and demons that got us here in the first place. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts with us all here.
