Aw, I saw this bumped up and thought maybe she'd posted.

As for Mojo, I'd be happy to send you mine. She likes to kill small animals and won't eat without Parmesan cheese on her food, but she's a good girl.

Hola, y'all!!

I'm here.

Mizz T, Jo, Mike, JSKM, Biki, Kym, CGal, Queenie and Chynna ~

thank you all SO much for the birthday greetings. I apologize for not thanking y'all sooner. That week was the craziest week I think I've ever experienced in my entire life. Not only was it my BD, but I was running two different experiments for two different classes, I had a couple of exams that week, too - and then it was Thanksgiving with relatives coming to stay, and I was one of only two people in the family who was any good at dealing with Albert's feeding tube.

...and it only got worse, busy-wise. I just couldn't seem to catch up! But it's all over now (4.0 semester, thankyouverymuch!), and I think I've even caught up on my sleep.

Thanks to all of y'all who've kept me in your thoughts! I feel as though I've come home! Again, lol! I tend to go MIA quite a bit, huh? My crazy life. I've tried to catch up a little with y'all, but it's impossible to have gotten it all. I was really happy to see the addition of a chat room. I've already been on twice! Thanks Unca! Cool feature.

Here's what's up with me:

Jerod (my nephew) is doing well. He's been medically cleared to resume all activities, wrestling included, though they have yet to diagnose or even explain his symptoms. I'm still worried about my boy, but so far so good. He's doing really well in wrestling and understands that he needs to tell his mom and doc about any unusual stuff. He still has the device implanted in his chest, though they're talking of removing it soon.

Debbie (my sister) is doing great. All of her follow-up studies have indicated that everything is just fine. Yay! How great is that?

Albert (my BIL) has been moved into a hospice home - just yesterday. He's not in pain at all, but he is really, really thin. More like emaciated. You can see his teeth through his cheeks. He's lost more than 110 lbs., from 220 to somewhere in the 100 and single digits. He's extremely jaundiced too, because his endocrine system is shutting down. Also, because the pancreas produces insulin, his sugar levels are completely out of whack. In just a couple of hours he can go from 28 to 160 (they should be between 80 and 110), so it's been really difficult to regulate. Still-- he's in good spirits and made it through the holidays. I think that's what he's been striving toward. It won't be long for him now, but I think he's come a long way toward accepting this, as has the rest of the family. It totally sucks, but it's LIFE - y'know?

Circle of life: I just learned today that another one of my nieces is pregnant! I think this'll be #37...maybe #38...I've kinda' lost count. This is Debbie's daughter, so she'll be a grandma again! Her son is the one whose baby was born in Sept (Isabella). This is this niece's 2nd child; she has a 2-year-old daughter. As previously mentioned, DH's niece is due in March, and we've learned that she will have a boy (she has a 2-year-old son already).

Man, oh, man! I told y'all my family was The Conejo Family! (Translation for Jo: conejo = rabbit )

And now for the best news of all. Drumroll, please! My nephew Lucas (Jerod's big bro) has safely exited Iraq. He's in Kuwait now and will return to the US in the next couple of days. OMG, what a relief!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

Okay, on that great note, I will bid you all adieu, until next time.

Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you!!

Gosh, Sojo, my emotions just went up and down like a roller coaster reading your update. No wonder you haven't posted. It is the circle of life as you have noted. But it still hurts. Congrats on that 4.0 and the upcoming addition to the family and the return of your nephew and prayers for you all. Missed you.

So good to hear from you, Sojo!! And I'm glad things are mostly going well, except for your BIL (but even there, it's good to hear the family is coming to peace with it).

And congrats on the 4.0. Excellent job!!

Oh Sojo........it is so wonderful to have you back and to read an update. So many good things happening and then there is the very sad with Albert's illness. As you said......circle of life, but doesn't ease the pain when we see someone nearing the end of their life. (((Sojo)))

Congratulations on that 4.0 !!!

So very glad you are back, what does your next semester look like---will you be 'nose buried in books' again?
