Ewwwwwwww!
Thankfully, we don't actually have to dissect anything in this class, though the prof has a brain model that we sometimes use.
Just like my Shakespear prof, this one is really passionate about what she does. She really LOVES the Central Nervous System! I swear,
she says that all the time! It really helps that she is so enthusiastic and really, really wants her students to learn about this stuff.
It's really difficult and there is SO much to learn and memorize, but it is absolutely fascinating, too! The human brain is AMAZING!!!
I mean, look at how many times mine just typed "really" ~ !!

Only a few more weeks till a nice Thanksgiving break - then your brain can rest and think of words besides 'really!'

I don't know how you do it all - such hardcore classes! But they do sound like fun - easy for me to say since I don't have to write any papers or take any tests!

Thanks for the well-wishes on the baby-making. It's turning out to be a bigger decision than I thought - lots of prep going into this deal. Sometimes I wish I were the man and could be 9000 pounds and 80 years old and still the boys just keep on swimmin'. No, I have to be the woman and all the pressure's on me!

Speaking of "what was I thinking??"...
I took a philosophy class (logic) during the summer session.
A regular semester's worth of work in 5 weeks.
Bad enough?
Nope.
The class began at 7:00 a.m.

I had to think about thinking!!!

It was hellacious..........or was it???

Duuuuuuude.

Earlier this evening (just after 8 pm), I was reclining on the couch reading my textbook and DH was in his Lazy Boy watching the boob tube...
I felt this shaking and thought my big choc lab was leaning against the couch while he scratched or something.
No...he was in the middle of the room, looking at me sideways (like this):

Image

I asked DH, "Did you feel that?" He said, "Feel what?"
Just then, the whole house shook (pretty hard!), and then swayed for several LONG seconds...
Yep, an earthquake. It was a 5.6 magnitute EQ, 9 miles NE of San Jose. That's about 90 miles away. The shaking was much stronger than what we felt during the Loma Prieta EQ in 1989, but that one was much higher in magnitude. Hmmm. I think it was a different type of seismic wave or something. It actually scared me at first, 'cause I thought it must be just devastating at its epicenter ~ thankfully, there have only been reports of slight damage (things falling off shelves and stuff), and no word of injuries. I'm sure Diana & Mike felt it pretty strongly, too...

This sure lends a whole new meaning to "keep shaking, y'all!"

;)

I heard about the quake last night----glad you, Mike and Di are okay. Hopefully Joy didn't have any damage (also everyone else that lives nearby).

Cute dog!

Thanks, Mizz T!
That's my baby, Rusty. He does that sideways look all the time,
the kids love it! In fact, he'll be a big hit tonight....a lot of our neighbors
have lived here for a long time and they usually bring their grandkids over
in their costumes. I think the kids just like coming over for the dogs...though
this year it'll be just Rusty. He's such a ham, he'll love it!

Thanks for the reminder ~ time to pull out the sugar cubes and sticks of lard
that I'll be handing out tonight. Whatever...as long as it's not coupons!
