I said I would do it. If clavicles won't bring her back, nothing will!

Sojo, we miss you when you are away.
Please come back and tell us that you are OK.

Your posts are so touching and frequently witty.
To lose you from the forum would be such a pity.

We hope you are well and your family is, too.
We've all grown to care quite a lot about you.

How about a group picture????

If we each send a head shot picture to Unca, perhaps he can put them together all in one page of her journal...That way when she DOES check in she'll see a bunch of our smiling faces !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, maybe that sounds goofy...

It's worth a try !

We all miss you Sojo. Anything... a small note, a sarcastic comment :nana:, anything. Did you finally get so fed up with the computer that you trashed it? :hammer: Or were your finals just too much that you did yourself in? :hammerhead1: Or maybe you just think that we are all just too crazy :nutz: to deal with.

Anyhow, if you find your way back, just know that we all miss you. :felix: And eagerly await your return.

I'm sorry guys. I've been unforgivably rude in not responding to y'all's good thoughts and messages and even anniversary greetings (not to mention the clavs and poem...thanks Biki and Robin.). Lizabette sure called it when she said that when I do post, y'all get your money's worth...so get ready.

I've been completely off-program, but doing okay. My sister is here and we're waiting for the birth of her granddaughter (due Sept 8th). She has not healed well from the surgery that was performed in Costa Rica (see hol, I was right about that damned machete!) and, when she first arrived, spent several days in the hospital at UCLA. The wounds were just not healing, and it turns out that she had a huge hematoma that was not being reabsorbed and had to be removed. I think they might have taken the drains out too early after the first surgery. She'd feeling pretty good right now. The bad thing is that during this process we learned that the definition of "cancer-free" is different in CR than it is here. They've done testing and we await the results. Read: more nail biting. She and her dh will actually be here for a couple of months.

BIL, Albert, is doing okay...he's not any worse anyway and has many more good days than bad. An ultrasound performed last Thurs indicated minimal/negligible growth of the tumor in his pancreas (which is really great for this type of cancer). The "spot" on his liver is now believed to be scar tissue and not a tumor at all, so that's really good news. He's still SO thin, but the cancer is also being starved, so... :?

Jerod's cardiac physicians cannot seem to figure out what the matter is with his heart, though they have ruled out Brugada's syndrome. A couple of weeks ago, he was supposed to go in for a follow-up exam, during which his doc decided to do some sort of cardiac catheter procedure. The results were not bad, they just were not clear or informative, so he opted to surgically implant a "chip" in Jerod's chest to monitor his cardiac rhythms and/or any arrythmias that might occur. It records at random times, but he is also to wear a remote around this neck (about the size of an ipod) that allows him to manually initiate the recording should he experience any irregular heartbeats. He'll go back in two months for the results to be read. Otherwise, he is doing well and is in good spirits ~ he is such a good kid:

So, I've been city/state/hospital-jumping lately. Exhausting right?
I finally came home to take it easy during the last couple of weeks of my summer break, but the best laid plans...

My sweet little girl, Chloe, died last week.

She was a really excellent dog, even though she had a real attitude sometimes. Actually, that was one of the things I loved most about her.

She lived to the ripe old age of 12 years, 6 months, and 9 days ~ pretty old for a boxer. She was fairly healthy right up to the very end, and I’m thankful that she did not suffer a long drawn-out illness or anything. She passed peacefully…she simply went to sleep.

I’ll miss her SO much, but I’m very honored to have known her and to have shared part of my life with her.

She was my best girl.

So.......
I've been trying to read posts here and there, but I just haven't felt ready to engage yet. Strange for me, I know, but I'm in a strange place right now. It may be a little while before I'm ready to post regularly. I need to focus on getting my head on straight and be ready to tackle a pretty demanding schedule this semester. So........I just need some time, but I realized that y'all can't know that if I don't tell you, so here I am.

Always with the drama, huh? Yup. That's my life.

I am so sorry. You have me in tears. Thank you so much for updating us when you have so much going on-I feel so selfish now for demanding your return. Little Chloe was beautiful. My love and prayers are with you and your family.
