I’m here, I’m here!

I check in on occasion to read posts, but my own journal is usually the last place I hit ~ and by then I’m too tired to write, or don’t have enough time…blah, blah, blah. I came to my journal first today!

Thank you all so much for checking in on me. Though I’ve posted a little here and there, I’m sorry I’ve not really been around for those of you going through difficult times. One of these days my life will smooth out and things will be back to normal, eh? It has to, right??

Mizz T and Sue ~ I hope y’all are feeling better now! Oh, and thanks for such kind words, Sue.
Patty ~ I’ve been thinking about you and your upcoming visit home.
Mary and Doni ~ I know too well how you both feel as you deal with your family issues…be strong! Or fall into a heap on the floor…whatever gets y’all through it.
Lizabette ~ I’m so glad that your DH is doing well and has rebounded so quickly! You're both amazing!

ALL of you are on my mind throughout the day...I wonder how Jo's kitchen is going?...is Mizz T drinking her water?...is the Silver Fox on the treadmill today or at the Y?...where the heck is that hot mess Chynna?...and Donna?...I sure hope Doni's okay...did Katie's restart go smoothly (welcome back, Katie!!)...did Robin workout 2 or 3 times today?...is Queenie shopping or jogging?...are Sue's abs getting even more cut?...does Nickie need more psych student smackdown?...did Pinks really get a pink swimsuit?...did Kelly eat the fish?...is Lauren the coolest, or what?...are Mike and Di enjoying their summer break?...is Hol cruisin' topless through the lavender fields?...LOL, stuff like that, all the time!

I so appreciate the continued support, well-wishes, prayers, and positive energy. Please keep them coming…'cause, yeah...things come in 3’s, don’t they? Albert, Jerod, and now…my sister who lives in Costa Rica just had 11 tumors and a calcification cluster removed from her breasts. Eleven! The docs are concerned with 2 of the tumors, which are now being biopsied. She should get those results in the next couple of days. I was more than a little concerned that she chose to remain in Costa Rica for this procedure – I mean, do they even sterilize the machete before surgery? Sorry if I just offended any Costa Ricans (or anyone else)…I’ve never been there myself, so I don’t really know what the hell I’m talking about – but it just seems so third world to me. My sister, OTOH, who has resided there for the past 2 years, apparently believes that it’s fine and that she’ll receive good medical care. Still ~ I worry. The good news was that their missionary insurance covered everything 100%.

I feel like the SNL character, Debbie Downer, y’all.

One of you: I lost 46 lbs! :D
Me, as Debbie Downer: My BIL has 4-6 months to live.

One of you: I fit into a size 16! :D
Me, as Debbie Downer: My 16-year-old nephew has a cardiac condition.

One of you: I’ve lost so much weight, I need a new bra!! :D
Me, as Debbie Downer: My sister might have breast cancer.

Okay ~ that was horrible, but as long as I’m laughing, I’m not crying. Y’know?

SO ~ enough of that.

Here’s some good news: another niece or nephew is on the way! DH’s side of the family this time. OMG - #36 (gulp!). Due St. Paddy’s Day. We’re hoping for a girl – they already have a boy. The baby due in Sept is a girl (my side of the family). Let’s go girls!! Also, strangely enough ~ if #36 is also a girl, it’ll tie the score at 18 boys and 18 girls. Cuh-razy, huh? Yep, but that’s my life…

SOJI,
When you do check in, you give us our money's worth.
I love how you balance out the bad with the good.
And how you're thinking about us, when you have so much more important stuff to think about!
Thank you, SOJI, for adding to our total enjoyment and for making us happier just to know you.
Guess that's it...

Sojo, reality is that we can laugh and cry at the same time. You rejoice with us when we share a victory but you also are carrying around a heart that breaks a little more each time you think of your loved ones who are battling troubles and health problems. I'd count myself very fortunate to be a part of your family. You are a 'good' woman.

My best to you...(yep, I'm drinking my water right now).

I have to agree with Lizabette ... you sure pack a lot into a post! Bless your heart, what a ton of woes you have! Sounds like you've found strength in the good sense of humor you maintain throughout it all. Yeah, it's strange to laugh when crying seems more logical, but either is a healthy release of tension and stress. But you know that. Stay strong and if you need to fall into a heap on the floor sometime I'll move over and make room for ya!

Sojo - you have so much on your plate yet you still think about us. How sweet are you? We love you so much and this forum would not be the same without you. You bring a lot of joy into my life.

I am so sorry about everything you and your family members are going through right now. I hope and pray that everything goes well.

Sojo, how in the world do you find the time to think about us and then come and tell us you thought about us and make us laugh in the process? You're some kind of wonderful!

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. Isn't it crazy how things really do seem to come in threes? I hope the biopsies come back ok. Sounds like your sister is a missionary so she probably has a whole lot of favor stored up that will get her (and you) through this tough time.

Your husband's family sounds almost as large as mine. I stopped counting my first cousins when I was about 10 and there were 40 or so of them. And who knows how many are boys or girls? That's too much work :) And now with all the first cousins' kids and their kids' kids, I get tired thinking about it. My grandpa was a fertile man - 17 kids (3 women, but that's a different post :) :? )

Anyway, I'm glad you checked in with us and I'm glad that you are finding ways to remain sane during this crazy time in your life. As Lauren said, I hope you are taking care of yourself. Keep being amazing :)

Well, geez, with such a large family, it's no WONDER there are multiple health issues simultaneously. 36 nieces and nephews? Wow.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. Eleven tumors? You guys don't do anything small, huh? Keep us posted.

And sometimes you just HAVE to laugh. A month to the day after my mom died (and in fact the first day I was able to go back into her house after the funeral stuff was over), my uncle went into the hospital with the exact same problem. And it took them all day to tell me, because everyone was too afraid to call me. So of course I was worried about my uncle, but when I was telling the grief-support group about it, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Sojo,

THANK YOU for all you do here... you are such a sweet support to all of us here! :rose: (and thanks for stopping in at my journal!)

Your family sounds so close and caring... I am very sorry to hear of the trials they are going through.

Take care of yourself too, as others have said! All that  of yours needs self-rest too :)

We're thinking about you... :stroll:

ok sweetie peetie, here's some news about the medical treatments in Costa Rico. My dear mother, loved her dearly, almost considered cr a 2nd home.
First of all she would usually spend the month of January in CR,
She also would go to CR for facial surguries, umm she was a bit vain, and dental work. She felt the care was phenomanal plus extrememly reasonable. Lots of people from Florida choose CR as a medical option.
I know this is no where near your sister's issues, just a fyi.
my thoughts to your family and to you.
hol
maybe when I get to goal I can run through lavender fields with my top down. ooopps, I dont think I have any top at goal weight.
