Hugs Sojo. I promise to keep those nephews of yours and your brother in law Albert in my prayers. Miracles happen, which I'll pray for Albert. With your Jerod, well, I know the doctors always give us the worst scenario sometimes and I hope it is not serious. I'll pray for your nephew serving in our Army too.

ARUGH! I just lost a long post to you Sojo-- :x .

I'm so sorry about pain and heartache your BIL and family are going through. Watching someone we love health decline due to illness is incredibly difficult and painful. I send you my very best.

Your nephew may have a silver lining in that cloud. If it is heart arrythmia problems and they determine he needs it, he can have a defibbrulator (sp) implanted into his chest which should kick in and 'shock' him if his heart rhythm ever goes 'wonky' again. My DH & I were at the office of a heart failure specialist on Monday because of this very problem that has shown up in our family in the last few months and is the main reason why I felt it was important to begin making wise choices about the health problems that can be corrected (poor eating habits that cause obesity and obesity related problems). I've done a lot of reading and studying on heart arrythmia problems and am familiar with the syndrom that you mentioned........finding the problem now may have just been the blessing that will allow your nephew to live a long and normal life. I pray that is the case.

Sending you & your family members my best.

Sojo;

I am so sorry that your family is being tested like this, but it is also a blessing that they know how to pull together and support one another.

My best wishes for your nephew and brother-in-law - I hope Tawanda is right about this being correctable for Jerod. And I wish you peace with your brother-in-law's decline. This is all tough news to handle but I am glad to know you are strong and well taken care of.

Oh my darling Sojo..i am soooo sorry you are having to endure such pain and sadness at this time...my prayers are with you and your most "precious" family. I was looking for something encouraging for you and your family to hold on to, and found this lovely poem...oh so TRUE it is:

God's Rainbow~

The falling rain dissolves into mist
And the thunder begins to die;
As the sporadic lightning fades,
An arch of colors pours from the sky.
Rainbows appear after mighty storms
When things look their worst;
Just when the skies are darkest gray,
Out of heaven does the rainbow burst.

God first sent the rainbow to Noah
As a sign that His word is true;
The rainbow's eternal message
Still speaks to me and you.

The rainbow is a sign of God's promise
That He will guide us through any storm;
That He will ease all our troubles
No matter what their form.

When you feel battered by life's storms
And you are filled with doubt and dismay,
Just remember God's rainbow is coming
For it's blessing ... you only have to pray.

I LOVE you miss thang:+))

Oh Sojo - I am so sorry for everything that is going on. I know it's very hard - but it actually is great that they caught this on your nephew now before something terrible happened. Starting in about 7th or 8th grade - I experienced rapid heart beats and then skipped heart beats. The doc told my mom that some kids are just that way but that it wasn't life threatening. The only problem is they could never get my heart on record when it would do those things. In my early 20's things were getting worse and they were coming more frequently, I have been through so many echocardiograms, wearing the monitors etc., but again - my heart would never do it for the docs. Then one night my heart started to race, I had two kids by then and they were sleeping and my hubby was at work. It took I everything I had not to pass out. It started at 10pm and I really thought it would go away - plus remember doc said some people just have this - I waited until hubby came from from work - 5am and had him take me to the ER. My heart rate was 270 beats per minute. They gave me an injection of something that made me feel like I was falling - but said this was a very dangerous situation. Guess my doc was wrong. I was told that atheletes fall dead on the field from what I went through. If that injection didn't work they were going to have to take the paddles to me. Very stressful situation. Anyways, it turned out that I had an extra electrical pathway to my heart which I ended up going through what is called an ablation procedure and had it severed - that was 12 years ago. The procedure is actually done out-patient. I don't have those problems anymore. I still once in a while get skipped heart beats but those are tolerable. I sure hope they figure out what is wrong with your nephew and are able to correct the problem. It's amazing what modern medicine is able to do nowadays.

Sojo, I'm so sorry about all the family problems. I, too, think there's a silver lining for your nephew. Those young athletes you read about are usually DEAD when they discover the problem. Your nephew is lucky (I know, but you know what I mean) to have been diagnosed while he's alive and can be treated or at least take precautions. It's obviously a life-changing diagnosis, but at least it didn't come too late.

Hang in there, and I'll keep you all in my thoughts.

Sojo, I am so sorry for all the grief and anxiety your family is experiencing now. My own husband died of cancer at the age of 48. When he was diagnosed it was too late for any treatment other than palliative. Watching someone decline is very difficult so my heart goes out to all of you. Hopefully your nephew will experience the benefits of modern technology. He is young, healthy in every other way and has a lot going for him. I will hold you all in prayer. :hug:

Hey girl... how's the weather down there.... oh yeah, its HOT! :shades:
We are so sorry to hear of all of the illness and rough times going on with you and your family. You are all in our prayers.
Perhaps you and your DH could take a little breather and get together with us someday soon...now that we are finally off our regular jobs for a bit.
Lets plan something and get together for a day or so... k?
;)

Let us know if that sounds like a deal. Talk to ya soon, and hang in there girl. :mrgreen:
