That's pretty cool to know!

ChynnaDoll also wrote:...a plethora of opportunities available for all who qualify...
Also good to know, and as I mentioned to Mike, something I will have to explore more closely.

ChynnaDoll also wrote:...and the opportunity to Study Abroad, which my daughter Errin expericienced for a year in Brazil during her 11th grade school year...
Way Cool! My stepson spent the summer between 11th and 12th grades in Japan on a Toyota study abroad scholarship. What a great experience for them both, huh?

ChynnaDoll also wrote:So in my humble opinion, i don't think it's just all about "exclusivity" i really do think there is something MORE going on in this society, and judging from what i've read about your academic journey so far, they've inducted the PERFECT person:+))
Thank you so much, you're a real sweetie! More than exclusivity is what I wanted to hear ~ otherwise, it just didn't seem worth the time. I'm feeling pretty good about this, Chynna!

ChynnaDoll also wrote:...i didn't mean to write a thesis here...

Are you kidding? Thank you SO much for all the info! This is exactly what I was looking for ~ someone who knew more about this than I...and you most certainly do! And thanks for all the props, too! ((((((( )))))))

Yeah, we definitely need to do the L&G thing.
I was SO bummed when I couldn't get to Benicia that weekend.
Do you guys get summers off? It's nearly here, isn't it?

Hey, I have a question :?: for the teachers ~ or anybody that knows... I've been inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the [i]"nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society in the United States."
Is it just yada-yada, or is it really beneficial to belong to one of these? I know that not everyone qualifies, but is exclusivity all this is about? That doesn't really interest me, but they do have an impressive list of prominent members, such as President Jimmy Carter, Hilary Clinton, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, John Grisham, etc.
Whadd'y'all think?

I think I feel really dumb!
In the midst of teachers, professors, and an inductee into the most prestigious honor society!
But I can admire you so much and still be very proud of you and the others I am learning about!
And our weight loss journies together kind of puts us all in the same boat for a while at least.
I really must keep up with the journals better. No telling what wonderful truthes I can learn.
Oh, yes, by all means, accept the honor! You deserve it.
For one thing, you have a way of making everything so much fun around here.

Too funny, Biki ~ I was just about to inform Miz-Hot-Mess-Chynna that you don't have to be a cop to buy the cuffs.

In fact, for V-Day last year, I bought DH a pair of fur-lined ones.
They're red.

Chynna ~ I DO love being married to my cop. He's really cute, too. There's a photo of him in the Studio, 'cause I noticed that the more weight Brian (bdg) loses, the more he resembles my DH: here's a link if you wanna' check him out. In the photo, he's just received a LifeSaving Medal, so he's even in uniform!!

Lizabette, don't make me threaten you with the skinny stick!
I won't tolerate anyone speaking badly about my Silver Fox,
even if it's the Silver Fox, herself!

I did accept the invitation and am really glad that I did.
Especially in light of all that I learned about the organization from Chynna!
Thanks for the congrats, and I'm proud that you're proud of me!

Thank you very much, hol!
That is my exact plan for the summer...brain relaxation.
Some volunteer/intern work with juvenile hall, but nothing
structured, or scheduled, y'know?
I also plan on doing a ton of reading, but just for leisure...
nothing textbooky at all. I have a whole shelf of books just waiting for me!
Wow. I became relaxed just thinkin about it! Thanks!

OKAY, OKAY, I take it back, but not the part where I feel so proud of you.
Sheesh...it's getting where a girl can't even have a complex in peace around here.

I'm with ya on that Sojo. This school year I've been wanting to read the books I have, but when I go to read them... just too tired or just not into it.
I've got books that I would have finished months ago just waiting to be cracked open.
Summers are good for that.
