Snacks

Postby LisaNewYorkCity » August 7th, 2006, 6:36 am

Hi,
Quick question...how many fast soups a day can you have? Can you have a fast soup and soy crackers in the same day? I haven't been on MF very long and I am confused. Thanks so much!

You can have 1 MF snack a day.
So one fast soup OR one package of crackers, OR one package of soy crisps.

Hi Lisa, either/or but not both in one day--one snack a day, whatever it is, whether the crackers, the soy crisps, fast soups, etc.. Check out your Quick Start Guide--tells all the do's and don'ts. Good luck and much success on your program! Glad you are with us! :D

There have been many, many threads regarding legal snacking on MF. Just wanted to interject that I recently received this "Medifast Tip of the Day" email directly from the horses mouth:

August 04, 2006

I'm hungry!

Even though you are eating Medifast Meals every few hours, sometimes you may still be hungry. The solution is healthy snacking! You may have any of the following snacks each day - but you may only have 1 snack per day, so choose wisely depending on personal tastes.

* 3 stalks of celery
* 2 dill pickles
* 1 cup of bouillon
* 1 cup sugar-free Jello
* 1 sugar-free Popsicle
* 1 Medifast Fast Soup
* 1 package Medifast Crackers
* Sugar-free gum (5 per day)
* Sugar-free mints (5 per day)

I'm still confused...

Thanks for your responses. Arklahoma, you can only have 1 of those items you listed as a snack? OMG...I've been having a pickle, 3 stalks of celery, a fast soup (sometimes 2) AND a cracker or soy crisp snack each day in addition to my shakes & L&G meal. I could of sworn that I read the Fast Soups, pickles & celery were free but I was wrong. This was my first full week, I guess that I am really lucky because I still lost 5 lbs this week. I will get my act together...I am drinking bouillon right now instead of a fast soup!

That's right ~ MF states only one allowed per day from the list. No free items on this diet except water :lol:

How come that list doesn't even include the soy crisps?? Odd.

Just have to say that if having the celery (after you've already had another snack) will save you from having a REALLY bad "snack", then I will opt for the celery and take my chances! :mrgreen:

Yes Lisa, Generally speaking I feel the same way :) If a low-cal/low-carb snack will keep me from eating something really bad I'm going to have that snack; even if I've already snacked that day.

Read Nancy's August 3rd post for an excellent, detailed answer (on the bottom of page 1):

Thanks again for your support. Nancy's posting was helpful. I realize now that I made a mistake, and I will follow the rules for now on. Maybe I subconsiously wanted to be able to eat all those snacks so I saw what I wanted to see. I am lucky that this was my first week and that I had still had a nice weight loss. I'm so motivated by this loss that I think I will be able to give up my "extra" snacks.
