a small victory

Postby big ron » October 1st, 2007, 6:26 pm

I am proud of a small victory I had today. I took one of my crews out to breakfast and unfortuntely I was craving a breakfast taco. For those of you who dont know what that is it is a soft flour tortilla loaded with whatever you want. I love potato egg cheese and ham. I sat down and almost talked myself into eating it but I kept thinking ONE DAY its only one day and as Nancy says nothing tastes as good as thin feels. I wasn't sure if I would do it but I stayed with the coffee and stayed strong. I feel good that I made the right choice. It's all about choices and one at a time. Bad news I am meeting another crew tomarrow and another Thursday morning and Friday for breakfast. I hope to stay firm in the following meetings. Dont mean to ramble but it does feel great!!!! :cleader:

Nothing tastes as good as being proud of your actions feels - a new twist on an old favorite saying.

Good job!

Way to go, Ron!!
That victorious feeling will carry you, and it DOES get easier the more opportunities you have to practice. (Not that I haven't done my share of caving, but I feel so much better physcially and mentally when I'm compliant and "in the zone.")
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana

Great job Ron. Might I suggest making up some Oatmeal cookies to take with you or perhaps making up some Medi-eggs and bring them with you.
This might make it a bit easier.

Stay strong

Ron,
I'm a half-Mexican from Texas and know how good those tacos are. You are a strong man!

Ron,

Can I suggest that this isn't a small victory but a MAJOR one?? I know the headgames we play with ourselves and when you can succumb to the still, small voice of health and happiness it feels great! And it will get just a teeny bit easier every time! You realize that those foods will always be there--we aren't suddenly going to have a shortage of breakfast burritos or in my case, pizza!

Way to go!!!!

I wholeheartedly agree, Di!

Ron, it does take some practice and it does get easier. I, too, have been guilty of off-plan eating--and not without consequences. Still, we empower ourselves with each good decision we make--little by little we get stronger--one shake at a time! :D Good luck! You CAN do this!

Good for you! In my mind that is no "small" victory, but a pretty big one!!
Reached Goal Nov 2007 61.5 lbs lost
Gained 11 lbs in Mexico 3/08, decided to lose that along with another 5 lbs!

That's great. Remember repetition strengthens and confirms.
