sleep issues

Postby slowlylosing » February 16th, 2006, 8:02 pm

Is anyone having trouble sleeping at night? I feel I have so much energy and I am not tired...

Does this mean I am ready to start exercising gently? I am almost done with my 3rd week.

Thanks! :?

IMHO, I would think that if you have so much energy you can't sleep ... exercising would definately be an option. ;)

Exercise

Postby Jan » February 16th, 2006, 8:19 pm

You're right at about the beginning of the 4th week it is time to start exercising. Gentle at first -- walking is perfect and work your way up. But only exercise no more than 45 minutes -- that's about all the calories you have to use. We don't want you to damage your muscle tissue.

If you decide to start exercising I would recommend you do so gently. I know that I have been getting up earlier and I am ready for bed by bed time :snooze: I am paranoid of exercise because there have been those who started and their weight loss stalls. If this should happen to you I have seen it recommended that you add another supplement. Hope you get some good z's soon

I am also paranoid! Glad to see I'm not alone in that! (I hope to start sometime within the next week or two though...)

I agree though...if you find you cannot sleep, I would find a way to burn off some of that extra energy. I know if I wake up early I usually take the dog out for a slightly longer morning walk.

Don't be paranoid of exercise! A pound of muscle is MUCH smaller than a pound of fat. Do a search on the internet to see the difference, you'll be amazed at the difference. That's why a female body builder will weigh 150 & wear a size 4.

I had sleep issues my whole life...

Postby Ginabobina1969 » February 17th, 2006, 5:37 am

And when I quit smoking it got really bad. My bedtime was like 5 or 6 in the MORNING...WHEN I went to bed. About 1 month ago..someone suggested Melatonin(natural-on the vitamin shelf) and it worked like a charm. It reset my sleep clock so now I sleep at night like a normal :| person.I take it every so often now if I am slippin back off track.

Also, although building a bit of muscle may make the scale slow down temporarily..your inches will go zooming down and muscle burns fat so building a little muscle will actually(in the long run) cause you to lose weight even faster. :-P

Your doing great!!!
Happy shaking and excercising!!
Hugs
