Jo, this was such an interesting thread it has brought me out of "lurking mode". I wonder if anyone has ever really looked at why certain personality types have weight problems?

Ok, I'll play. I'm a frustrated perfectionist. I want things to be perfect but just don't have the energy to fix everything myself! The only IQ tests I've ever done were online and I am usually between 135 and 140. Who knows, that might be equivalent to a 70 on a real IQ test!

I have a 2 year degree in Cardiopulmonary Science and graduated at the top of my class. I had enough college credit for a 4 year degree....if I could have stayed with one major. I worked in respiratory therapy for 20 years and always put everyone else first. Even to the point of eating chips and junk food while running between patient rooms instead of taking a lunch break. I figured running up and down the hospital halls would balance out all the junk food/soda calories. Like...as long as you are moving while eating nothing will have a chance to stick to your hips and thighs. Wrong!!

I was born with an incurable case of smartass but thanks to a very strict and proper mother I've learned to control the symptoms. Most of the time....I have lapses every once in a while.

I'm also an artistic soul. My first major in college was fashion design with a minor in journalism. Until my parents threatened to quit paying my college costs until I switched to business, teaching or nursing. All of those were proper jobs for a young lady until she got her MRS degree! (Gee....I sure miss the 1970's! not!) But I showed Mom and Dad who's boss by waiting till I was 32 to get married! The 80's were a LOT more fun than the 70's! :buddies: :coolnana:

My totally unscientific conclusion is that yes, these other traits are part of the overweight personality.

I've always wondered why I've done so well at my life accept for my weight. Maybe the fact that I've done so well is part of why I was overweight.

I know they say kids have safe rebellions......things they do to defy their parents but not the world. Well, maybe my weight was my safe rebellion.....against me, but in my warped mind I wasn't hurting anyone else. I guess I can see the flaw in that thinking.

I do have a rebellious personality......ok, jo....eating yourself to death is NOT a safe rebellion.....find something new!!!!!! mmmmwwwaaaaahahahahahahahaha

Yep! Great thread.

Nurturer, have a very hard time saying no to volunteering even though I know that by splitting myself in so many directions no one is getting the best of me. I want everyone around me to be happy.

Frustrated perfectionist, procrastination is my symptom

Hate gossips and tattletales

Stubborn when I believe in something

Known to be just a wee bit sarcastic :)

Hold my thoughts and feelings to myself, until now! ya'll better watch out! the beast is loose :)

Allrighty I guess I can chime in here...

I am super crafty, a perfectionist at heart but not always by hand, I live with a camera around my neck, I have an IQ of 139 which always had me in the Gifted classes in school but I still remained a "Cool kid" and still am to this day ;)

I make friends super easy and even a few Sistas here & there. I do not know any strangers. I talk to people in line next to me much to the dismay of the ppl with me.

I love to gossip*sorry ThinknThin* and read the tabloids online often.

I always thought I would be a teacher and even went to school become one however I have a deathly fear of speaking in front of a room of ppl, yes even ones who are 7yrs old....I left college to become a Mom and havent looked back since. I run 2 business' from home which to me is the best of all worlds.

I break the rules whenever possible and so far it hasnt gotten me in too much trouble.

I hate to cook, will read anything in front of me, can out "quote" my Southern Baptist Preacher FIL on the Bible, color my hair on a monthly basis, and hope to write a novel someday.
