Thanks everyone for your supportive comments. It's nice to know that we're not alone!

Mary, I cannot wait to join your 100# club (almost 3 times over!)!! Then I'll know I'm just over a 1/3 of the way there....then to do it again, 2/3 of the way there and then 77 more after that. I'm breaking it up in 10 lb chunks and plowing ahead.

Keep the comments coming! I need every one of them!

Thanks again!

Ok, the nerves are on....It has been so long since I broke the 380 mark. I hope I can do it Monday. If not, then the following Monday should do the trick. I got down to 345 when I got pregnant the last time, then ballooned rapidly upwards.

I'm not too worried about pregnancy this time as the doctor took care of that when I had my c-section (although, it could still always happen)...I'm just SO ready to not be fat anymore. I'm so ready for my kids to have a healthy, energetic mom who can practice sports with them during the week and cheer them on on the weekends. I want my baby who is crawling to have a mom who can get on the floor and crawl with him without needing a block and tackle to get back up again.

I read a fantastic post from 2006 about someone cheating with pizza "Emergency Pizza Help" http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/view ... ight=pizza
That's a great one to read if you even remotely think about cheating.

Yesterday at work was the worst for cravings I've had since my restart. The kids in class have "Fun Friday" and special treats/snacks in the afternoon while they do fun activities. Well this time, the parent who sent the snacks sent a gigantic box of Fudge Rounds and Nutty Bars. The smell of fudge and peanut butter was absolutely unbearable. I had to leave the room, go to the teachers' lounge and make a shake. I was a little early on the shake but it kept me from toppling over the edge. I could literally feel the consistency of the fudge round pushing its way down my throat as I shoveled them in--it was almost like I was having a hallucination!!! Thankfully, it was just that, and I didn't cheat--but boy, I wanted to!!

There were also plates full of cheesy lasagna, steak subs and homemade mac-n-cheese to contend with--what a week! I was ready to bring out a crucifix, sling holy water, wear garlic around my neck, whatever it took!!

Onward and downward!!!

Tammy ~ yay on you for standing strong!

You can actually use your hallucinatory prowess to your advantage...here is an excerpt from a ridiculously long post I made in my journal around the beginning of the year. The post was about why we sabotage ourselves and how we can combat that inclination. I've also included Jo's response to the post, which sounds like something you could easily do. Try it, it really works!

I wrote:“The human brain and nervous system can’t distinguish between an experience that is real and one that is vividly imagined. When you vividly imagine yourself the way you want to be, doing the things you want to do, these mental pictures are not only accepted by your subconscious as real, they are accepted as commands or instructions."

Serendipity wrote:While I was on the 5&1 and still today, one of my tools was to really visualize the food item I was missing at the time. This was usually while my coworkers were eating chocolate truffles or pizza. First I would smell the food and instead of feeling sorry for myself, I would just enjoy the smell. As you smell food, you can remember the taste. I would get the picture of me eating it in my head.....the bite, slowly savoring the aroma and flavor, the chewing and swallowing....... We all know what pizza tastes like. I just enjoyed imagining the taste. I know it sounds really kooky, but it always worked for me. You would swear I just had a piece of pumpkin pie, or cheese cake, or whatever it was at the moment. The amazing thing was that it satisfied me! Each and every time I did that, it satisfied my yearning and I just didn't need to physically perform the chewing and swallowing. There were times I even said as people were saying they felt guilty for eating in front of me, "I don't need a taste, I remember what it tastes like."

Ok, you can commit me now, but I'm telling you.......the mind is truly amazing. It can be fooled quite easily. So you act "as if" and attitudes become reality......it's magic!

Thanks, Sojourner!

I'm up at 3:00 am because I think my child has the croup! My ISP homepage had this quote for the day today:

I don't think anything is unrealistic if you believe you can do it. I think if you are determined enough and willing to pay the price, you can get it done.
- -- Mike Ditka

Not too shabby!

I'm willing to pay the price.....

Sojo, I could see how that could work if I was craving something. But yesterday I was just punishing myself.

I was thinking about that theory of enjoying the food as if you're actually having it...

I would just enjoy the smell.

Isn't that a sin or something? Food lust or adultery? :roflmao:

I think I'll stick with abstinence, myself. :brickwall:

:)

Another good quote for the day:
As long as a person doesn't admit he is defeated, he is not defeated -- he's just a little behind and isn't through fighting.
