Should I get low fat or fat free cottage cheese?

Postby ascicles » May 26th, 2006, 1:53 pm

I am going to eat about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese along with some chicken tonight. I would prefer fat free, but should I go with low fat?

I have never bought fat free cottage cheese. I have always used the low fat. I don't know that I have even seen fat free cottage cheese?!

Fat free is the only kind that I've ever bought. It tends to be a little more runny than the other kind, and I guess that is what I'm used to.

Well, Manly, the only reason it wouldn't be ok to have the no-fat CC would be if the carbs are too high as compared to the low fat CC. I have no idea what the answer to that is because I don't have any here to check for ya.

See--I like it really thick, with lots of pepper. I don't even buy the large curd because it is too runny.

Well guys, lets think about this...was cottage cheese (full fat, low fat or fat free) EVER meant for human consumption? PEPPER? OMG!! Actually, I like cottage cheese but I prefer the creamy style and large curd is outta the question. Has anyone ever tried mixing it with yogurt? I know, I know, yogurt is not on plan ~ but the combination is delicious, but uh, PEPPER? :?

Yah, I can only eat cottage cheese with pepper and a bit of salt sometimes...but LOTS of pepper. I don't know how anyone can eat it with fruit added, it's not meant to be sweet. BLECH!!!! :)

O.k. I see I am in the minority here...but you gotta try it with yogurt!!! It wasn't meant to be sweet? I don't think it was meant to be salty either!! Like I said, I don't think it was actually EVER meant for human consumption! LOL
