Feelin' much better I must say~
'cause I won't be eatin' junk today.
Though my tinkling is hourly now~
Couple of months-no longer a cow.
I've traded in my bread and bacon
and from now on I'm a super shakin'.
Sure some days are tougher than "utters"
but there's magic here for me and others.
I've seen the humor, strength and hope~
I'm stickin' with you guys, 'cause I'm no dope!!!
So raise your shake and let's make a toast-
Thru Medifast and this forum we'll lose the most.
AHHH- someday to be so very thin and HOT ~
We can do it today -- Let's give it all we've GOT!!!!

Well let me give this poetry a shot. Here goes:

Oh Medifast Oh Medifast
This is the program that will last
It will give me the strength i need
And that craving for food, it will feed
Those cookies, cakes and apple pies
Are the reason i have these big ol thighs
I traded all that junk food in
So i can be fit and healthy and thin
I know this program will do its part
And give me that healthy start
Its gonna work, u all will see
And I will be an unbelievable me
I will become more active and outgoing, i know
And this sad low self esteem will definently go
My children will be glad they got their mom back
And i will be happy not a sad sack
So all u doubters just give Medifast a try
And u too will be the apple of your very own eye
Start date 2-16-04
Height 5'10
Start weight 325
1st goal 300 by 3-31-04
Ultimate goal 170-180lbs
I CAN AND DO THIS, I AM MOTIVATED, DETERMINED AND MY SPIRIT IS WILLING. NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW

Well here's my input to the poetry club:

I am back on medifast
I hope this program is my last
I lost 10lbs in 13 days
And i said oh this program really pays
But then it wasnt all i anticipated
Especially after i got constipated
The nurse told me to give it a break
And let your system get back in shape
So i was off a week and 3lbs i did gain
I tell u it was such a horrible pain
I started back 4 days ago
I stepped on the scale and I said WOE
The weight i gained is gone again
This Medifast sure makes me win
Not only did i lose the 3
I lost 2 more to help me be free
So now i know i m on the right track
And all i will say is I M GLAD TO BE BACK

Wow to all of you. We're just gonna have to call this "The Poet's Corner." What is really wonderful is all of your senses of humor coming through so loud and clear along with your commitment to a goal. They say if you want to get something done, write it down. I can't wait to hear the "after" poems. I am not a poet and do know it. So thanks for sharing all of yours with your fellow forum members.

P.S. Unca Tim:
Have Nancy and Terry seen these yet? They will have warm fuzzies when they read them for sure.

Sure, with ONE stipulation:

If they get published into a book, or newspaper, YOU owe every author a packet of your favorite shake!

My poetic contribution...

Postby elle4nelly » February 20th, 2004, 2:20 pm

Ode to Medifast!

Once upon the shores of Medifast
I cast in my dreams and wish for a fast
And “Lord Behold” my wish came true
For here I shake without the blues.

And all these years of diet madness
Will go away and leave no sadness
For Medifast will be my last
Attempt to be my best at last!

And so to Thin-Ville here I go
Burgers and fries I will forego
‘Cause when summer stars and flowers blossom
Beautiful Thin Me won’t have a big ‘ol bottom!

:D

Ode to Mike

I call him “ Attila the Thin Hun”
:x The terror of the Shakin’ nation
For if your diet wheels no longer spun
Beware of his wrath and condemnation.

But what a Shakin’ world it would be
Without the care and wits of this dude Mike?
Lord only knows how we’d survive this hike
Without a butt-kick from Mike our busy bee!

So if some sense you’ve come to seek
Look no further ‘cause this guy will speak!
Speak the truth of McDonald and Medifast.
And ya’ll wonder why this forum is a Blast?

mike? I couldn't resit!

keep shakin' friends! :D

I thank you! It pleases me to think I am thought of, espically in this manner.

Off the top of my head, another poem I shall shed:

These rhymes I Mike chime,
They do have a point....

Medifast my friends is an absolute blast.

Don’t drop when you shop
Let’s hop to that stop
And find some nice pants,
Cause no longer we fear - that last dance.

Oh my friends in the quorum, we shall call you the forum.
Continue to shake, for later we will bake.
A dish fit for a king, to thee will have no more sting.

The time is upon us, no longer they step on us.
A shadow of ourselves, we no longer require (Keebler) elves,
To add extra chips, to our rapid decreasing hips.

Being overweight is no longer my fate!

For now my friends, I must leave with glee,
Cause I really, really gotta pee
