Shakes vs Meals

I just began Medifast today and I only have one thing I am not sure about. I have read that you MUST have at least 3 shakes per day. But I have also read that all the meals are interchangable. So, instead of 3 shakes I was planning this:

Peach oatmeal
vanilla shake
chicken soup
Medifast bar
Lean & green meal
Medifast latte

Is this right? Please someone let me know if I am doing this wrong.

You got it right! The 3 shake rule is old news. Just keep it to one bar a day and anything else is a go! Good luck, can't wait to hear about your progress!

I panicked a little when I read the 3 shake rule because I didnt ordered very many shakes...mostly soup and oatmeal.

Hi there,
We no longer are required to have three shakes a day but, if you are having a problem -- expecially when you are first beginning with hunger -- up the number of shakes a bit three would be fine. The shakes contain more soy than the other products. Soy is a natural appetite suppressant. Sometimes thats a great thing for all of us!!! Other than that just mix and match...one bar a day though .. if you choose to have the bars.

They do recommend that if you're having trouble losing, you have at least two shakes a day, though.

Thanks everyone for the input. I guess I should order more shakes, hu? Just in case.

Day one is over and I feel pretty good. I choked down my last meal,(the only thing I had that I didnt like) the chai latte...and then went straight to the computer and put them on Ebay. They are not for me, too much spice. :nonono:

You can swap them right here, too, for something you like better. Visit the swap and shop section.

And I highly recommend getting some Ready to Drink shakes, too. Very convenient when you're on the go.

In addition to what Robin posted, Dr. Anderson suggests that 2 shakes a day is a good thing to do. More soy, better appetite control, perhaps better weight loss.

Yeah, the three shake rule is something that I am glad is gone.

I usually only have one shake a day, if that. My typical day goes like this...

- Hot Cocoa
- Tropical Punch
- Peach Tea or Cranberry Mango
- Tropical Punch
- L&G
- Tropical Punch or Dutch Chocolate Shake

Can you tell I like the punch?
