Shake add-in?

Postby Pashta » March 28th, 2006, 6:49 am

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to add in a half teaspoon to a teaspoon of sugar-free, fat-free jello pudding to our shakes? It would seem like it wouldn't hurt to me, but I just want to be sure. I used that amount in a shake yesterday and it made it a lot thicker, I liked it better. :)

Well I found this on the official medifast website, this was listed on their recipe guide in the download section:

I called Medifast and they said we can have 1 cup of SF FF Jell-O a day. At Easter time, Jell-O had an egg Jell-O mold promotion and I use that and have one egg when I need something sweet. Someone also mentioned they put 1/4 or 1/2 cup of made Jell-O to vanilla shake and mixed and that was good.

But it doesn't say anything about the SF FF pudding.

There are a lot of posts in the lean and green section I think about this.

Bottom line is yes you can added a little bit of FF SF pudding powder to your shakes. It isn't recomended that you do this 5 times a day mind you, but as a treat it is allowed. If you do this perhaps skip one of your snacks for the day. The pudding has 25 calories for a 1/4 package of the powder. You could divide up the powder and see how many servings you actually get out of a packet and than divide that number into 100 to see how many calories you are adding to your shake. I am willing to bet that 1/2 teaspoon isn't going to be many more calories.

I use 2 teaspoons, 5 oz of water and a shake packet to make some yummy pudding as a treat. I don't do this every day, but it is a nice change.

Just be careful with adding extras that you stay in the caolorie and carb limits. 1/4 pack of pudding has 6 carbs.

Hope that helps.

There are nearly five tablespoons in a small packet of pudding mix (I know because I also use a bit occasionally - I add a little to vanilla shake mix and 4-5 ounces of water to make pistachio pudding). So a teaspoon should be OK (but definitely don't do it several times a day; I usually don't have a bar that day if I do it).

ewww ewww I know I know, I finally know the answer to a question here. Accourding to MF forum monitors at the Medifast websight. You are allowed to have 2 tblspns of sf ff pudding mix per day. This DOES count as your snack. But I have to agree it makes your shakes and your puddings sooo yummy.
