Good morning, bebes, just a day and a half late, hehe.

Just wanted to post that I haven't quit the c25k yet. I'm finishing up the 1st week tomorrow. Then on to week 2 on Thursday or Friday. Hmmmmm, will I stick it out this time? Too soon to tell, but the desire is there.

We're going shopping for a bike for me on Saturday. I found out that there are several "rails to trails" close by. Does everyone have those or is it just here where the railroads are a thing of the past? Anyway, we're gonna get me a new bike because my brakes squeak and we've had it worked on a few times and they still squeak and I just can't use a bike with squeaky brakes! And....my hubby has had 3 new bikes since I got mine....it's time.

The decorating saga continues at home. We spent hours and hours a week ago looking at fabric for the livingroom furniture. I had picked out what I love and thought we agreed on it. Then Mark said he didn't really love it and could we pick something else......well, three hours later, exhausted, we chose something that was a compromise for me and him. We placed the order and paid a huge amount down. Wellllllllllll, tonight on the way to dinner, the hubster says......"is it too late to change our minds? I think we should get what you picked in the first place" AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH. So a phone call to the fabric place. They told me that it's never too late as long as we're willing to pay the restock fee, so I'm going to the city on Saturday to reorder. At least I will love it......and really, it is the right fabric.

As soon as I find my camera charger, I'll take pictures of the new kitchen to post here. The charger is lost in a drawer somewhere with all the kitchen stuff that I haven't restocked.....it'll turn up someday. The kitchen turned out just as I planned it.....wouldn't change a thing!

On food.......it's going well. I've been sort of on a modified 5&1 lately, because I'm so busy, it works to just have suppies at work and then have dinner and pudding later. I'm retaining water, golly, seems to get worse with age. Can anyone who's gone through menopause tell me that it gets better? If not, I need to make a little visit to my Dr. This is not fun.

I'm sorry I can't post as much as I had been.....just so busy, but life is good, no complaints.

Hi Jo!
Well Im no expert on menopause, but I think Im done with all the crazy stuff.
Progesterone creme was a godsend. I used it during the peri meno time. You can buy it most places. Cant remember the one I really liked. I will look the next time Im at the store.
Evening primrose is good to take for every woman.
I did do a stint with hormone replacement. It really helped me big time.
Hope this helps.
hugs

Actually, I'm not going through menopause yet. I was wondering if on the other end of it, the water issues go away. The water weight is all cyclical for me. I have about a week and a half or two weeks, if I'm lucky, of relief each month. So annoying.

I went through menopause years ago (yes, very early), but I still have water-retention issues.

Thanks, Robin. I always thought the water retention issues would go away when I lost weight and they did improve. But this week especially, my ankles have been swelling every day regardless of what I do to prevent it. It's so annoying! I feel like a water buffalo. I'm gonna see what my Dr. says, but she'll prolly just prescribe the diuretic I've been taking for it.

The most annoying thing besides the swelling is that my scale is so irratic. I lost 4 pounds overnight last night without changing my diet at all. I can also gain that much. No wonder I can't get comfortable with maintenance, grrrrrr.

.

My mom is a normal weight and she always gets swollen ankles in the heat. I never got them even when I was fat but mom always has in the summertime. I think she takes something called Lasix if it gets too bad. Oh and congrats on the loss even if it is perplexing.

Diana,

I am a gramma, but there's no way I'm ready for support hose! :x

Bebes, I would elevate, but it's rather hard to work with my feet propped up on my desk.....makes it hard to reach the calculator. Believe me, though, as soon as I get home, the feet go up.

4 miles on my new bike and 1 mile walk/jog at the track! Yea me!

We went shopping yesterday. Good news and bad news. The good news is that Mark got a car to drive so that he doesn't have to use his gas guzzling truck every day. The bad news is that we traded in the Z-3! The pain! The only thing keeping me going is that he promised that next year I can trade my Saab in on any car I want (within reason)......so while he was looking at the GTI's, I was looking at the VW Eos. It' a hard top convertible......hehehehehehe.

We also bought me a bike. It was so funny, while Mark was looking at the important stuff - gears, brakes, brand name, quality, I was all about cute. I wanted a pink bike...or at least something cute. There were no pink ones, but there was a retro green with flowers on it and brown leather seat and hand grips. He vetoed that one because it wasn't good enough. I settled on a cute Trek......blue with little flowers. And of course my current helmet didn't match, so I went to pick out a new helmet. There was a really cute one - blue with pink flowers - but they only had it in youth! (what does that say about me folks, lol) I had to get a grown up one in sort of a boring blue. Don't those bike people know it's all about how you look on your bike, not how the bike works. Sheez.

Cute is what is important, honestly if something doesnt make me smile these days, I do not get it!
A new bike and your on your way to being an athlete :)
A new car and you will be one hot happy woman :-P

Hey Jo, sorry about the water retention. No good news from me on that. I take a diriiretic ? everyday, and still puff up. I could drink 10 gallons of h2o, elevate, sweat like a trucker, pea, and still puff, I hate it and have not learned to live with it. This started in my 40's.
