I got on an 'afghan' kick a few years back and crocheted (not knitting) one for each of my kids for Christmas (four of 'em) plus a couple for myself.
As for knitting, I knitted lots of dish cloths one time while on an RV trip to keep my hands and mind busy, but that means 'work'.
No knit socks for me...too much concentration. "Krishner method"???
But I'd really love a pair, tho"!

Hey, I thought the new and improved terminology was "maintenance training?"

"Mini-plateau," "moderately long stall," ~ y'all need to cross reference for new lingo...personally,
I prefer the Kirshner Method of Gusset Decreasing (via the toe and occurring only on flatlining patients).

Jo, not familiar with the name ( Kirshner Method ) and I'm not coming up with anything when I do a web search. When I made Christmas stockings with my knitting machine, I'd knit some waste yarn onto the toes and then weave the sock together, removing the waste yarn when the top & bottom of the toe were spliced together. Never knew a name for that, but it made a nice finish without a seam to rub on the toes. I'll keep searching for that term to see what it is.

My bad! Sorry, I got the spelling wrong. Here's a modified link to directions for the Kitchner Stitch:

I've been looking for a new hairdo...Jo your offer is tempting but you live so far away and I would not want to put you out. It looks like a lot of work and I don't know if I would have the time in the morning to repeat the look. Biki - do you want to give it a try first and see how the people in DC take to it.....that would be way too funny...I dare you....but then again you just might start a new trend....LOL!!

No way! If I can't have sparkles on my socks you don't get them on your knitted hair!

Jo...though I've been waiting with bated breath to view her delicate ankles,
I'd rather see a shot of Biki in this...you can make it out of purple yarn,
and then she'd have the hair she's wanted since she was 12 ~ it's a win-win!

Oh My Gooooodness,
I should go perusing thru the journals more often .. hmmm ... think I will. You guys are hilarious!!! I haven't had much luck knitting.. I can't figure out how to use two needles at the same time. But I did get volunteered to make 35 pairs of socks for a charity. I made them on a loom... all 70 of them ...
