Then again, if you were to lose your shirt, I am sure there'd be plenty of volunteers to help pay for that internet access!

Hi Jo~ I have to tell you that you are one of the reasons I got the nerve up to re-start. I had been reading the forum for several days, maybe even weeks who knows, and I came across several of your posts. You are very inspiring. Your pictures in the Studio are amazing. You look wonderful. I'm jealous, not a bad jealous, a good one. One that made me say, "I can do this!" Thank you for being a beacon of light. :you:

Hi Jo,

As you can see I finally started my program :D Like Hyperion, you inspire me and I hope I'll get as good results as both of you got :)

And for the story of you being a topless internet surfer in Sin City, I won't comment, as I don't know you enough

136 this morning......lots of water retention from the 4 hour flight, so no worries. I did have a foodie adventure at the buffet, but I didn't over stuff myself, and I just tried what I thought I would like, staying away from the pasta and starches. For dessert, I picked three because I couldn't decide, but then I only tried a bite of each and the one I liked the best, I had 3 bites of! I realized later that I did not pick a chocolate dessert. Interesting, as choco was always my downfall.

It was kind of hard finding the right foods to eat at our hotel. Sooooo, I had more grilled chicken salad than any one person should have to eat, but I made do.

I'm gonna do the 5 & 1 for a few days until this bloating goes away. I'm like Liz.....I like being well under my goal, so I will be there shortly!

Taaan, No pics, no how, no way!

Donica, Thanks for letting me know. I always hope that I can help someone else get where they need to be the way I've been helped along the way by others.

Sojo, You weren't supposed to tell! Dang! I let my hair down and sure nuff, it comes back to haunt me.

Biki, I missed u 2, but there's no way I'm gonna get through all the missed posts. Hoping someone will fill me in if there's anything important I missed.

Gotta go, work is just awful today!

132 today.

I passed my first test. I didn't freak out when my weight was up a little bit. My plan worked. I long ago decided that if my weight went above my goal at any point, I would go on the 5&1 until it went back down....sooooo, when I got back from Las Vegas, even though I knew that most of the extra weight was water, I went on the 5&1 for 2 days. I don't know what would have happened if I had just been more strict with my maintenance plan, but psychologically, it was just so pleasing to be able to take control of my eating and prove to myself that food will not get the best of me this time around.

All in all, very pleased with myself right now.

Today, we go to see the chillins with a side trip to Circuit City or Best Buy and maybe a trip to a great grocery store in the city.

Thanks Laura & Biki, I really appreciate your comments. This test was just such a big step for me. You know that I did this before and within a month had gained back over 10 pounds.....I never maintained for one minute! So, obviously, I have been very nervous about how I would react when I saw the scale move where I didn't want to go.

Instead of hiding from the scale and going immediately into denial, I did the grown up thing.....cut back for a few days. I wish I knew what the difference is this time.....I think it's more maturity than anything else. Doing without food for a few days isn't gonna hurt me as much as putting on the pounds again. I just couldn't deal with that, so I'm happy giving up a little bit to stay thin.

I'm thin.

More experience, more motivation, more everything except the weight . Thanks for continuing to check in here, I've been thinking a lot lately about transition and maintenece myself and it sure is helpful for the likes of me to read about your experiences and how you deal with them (so well).

Cheers,

Jo,
I'm so glad I read your most recent post. It actually answered a question that I wanted to ask you in order to help myself with my M.F. re-starting. I was going to ask you what was different this time around for you maintaining your goal weight after M.F. as opposed to last time when you had lost alot of weight on M.F. a while back and then regained the weight. That is something that I fear also after I reach my goal. Thanks for the continued maintenance posts. They really do help alot of us !!! :thumbig:
