Thanks, Kanani

130 again. Since it's New Years day, I'm considering possible resolutions. I don't really have any except to maintain my weight, but I already started that, so it seems too late to resolve that now. Here's what I came up with:

1. Spend more time at the cabin. We love it there, but sometimes life gets in the way and we just get lazy.

2. Write in my journal.....this one and the one my son bought for me.

3. Be a better wife in 2007......learn to listen better.

That's it, I think.

I'm bored. What is it about husbands and football on New Years Day??? YAWN!

I've just been hangin' out....should have been putting Christmas stuff away, but just couldn't bring myself to start.

I feel like I ate too much today, but I know that I didn't. I still have things I'm supposed to have such as another veggie and another supplement and the other half of my dairy and I just can't seem to do it today. The pork and sauer kraut was really filling! I'll be up until at least 10:00 pm, though. so maybe I can have my last supplement.....I'll wait and see how I feel.

It's back to work tomorrow........UGH!

131 today. Maintenance is working fine for me. No hunger. I'm eating 3 supplements, 2 L&G's, a fruit, a dairy. Skipping the grain on most days. It's plenty of food for me. I've had several opportunities to have treats, but I'm being really picky and usually say no thanks.

I'm thinking about how to work some different things into my plan, such as pasta or soups. I guess I'll just treat them like any other treat and have them just occasionally. I popped an olive into my mouth last night. I have never liked olives, but have developed a taste for them.....odd. Anyway, foods like that only confuse me because they have become foreign. The olive was ok. Didn't need 2 or 4 or the whole jar as I would have in my old life.

Work is getting extremely busy, extremely fast this year. Being short staffed isn't helping. I just spent the last 2 days fixing a mess that was made by someone who supposedly knew everything about accounting.....masters degree in accounting and finance!!!..... but couldn't do a bank reconciliation correctly. :x I love my job. I love my job. I love my job. Did I tell you that all I ever wanted to be was a homemaker? grrrrrrrrrrrrr. But really, work can be very rewarding, blah, blah, blah.

Good news on the staff problem. We called a past employee to see if she would be interested in the position and she was thrilled to return. That saves us about a year of training......huge relief.

When you add your pasta have you considered a whole wheat variety? They are better on the glycemic index than regular pasta. They don't give the blood sugar so many ups and downs. When I was on the WW Core plan that was the only type of pasta we could eat. The CORE plan is actually very similar to the maintenance diet.

Or how's about low-carb Dreamfields Pasta?

I had some lasagna made with it recently (pre-MF) and it was GREAT. I've heard the other kinds that would not be as disguised also taste very good :)

I guess if I was craving it, the low carb/whole wheat would be an option, but really, I don't care if I only have it once in awhile. I think I'll try treating it like ice cream......rare occasions.

131 today.

Had my yearly checkup today. BP was 100/70! I don't remember when it was that low.....even in high school. My doctor was all about praising me for seeing it through and reaching my goal. She said that people in general don't have the fortitude to stick to a diet long enough to get to a healthy weight. She said that many of her patients lose 20, 30, 40 pounds and then give up because it's taking too long.

We talked a bit about my extra skin. She asked me if I had considered surgery. I said it's too soon to decide and that I want to wait and see what happens. She was fine with that and said that it takes time, but that my skin was stretched out for a long time and it may need some help at some point. We'll see.....I'm giving it a year, I think.

Sunday, we leave for a conference in Las Vegas......Mark has meetings....I have shopping, heheh. We'll just be gone for 4 days, but it'll be a nice last minute fling before H E double L starts at work.
