I found a 100 dollar bill yesterday!

I was cleaning out drawers. It was my drawer where I just throw stuff I don't use all the time, but I don't want to lose. Like sun glasses, various change purses, credit cards, pictures, cards, letters....stuff like that.

In the very bottom of the drawer I found a Christmas card. I thought....why did you save this? I opened it up and found the bill! Yay for me, eh? I lost it in a drawer where I put things I don't want to lose.....ironic, hehe.

Here's the story: Two years ago, when my MIL was so sick, I helped her prepare her Christmas cards. She always used to write a little note and give us money. That year, all she could manage was "Love Grandma" in a very shakey hand. Then when Christmas came, she was seriously ill. In fact, I ended up spending all day on Christmas and overnight at her bedside. She died at 1:00 the next afternoon. I must have just thrown that card in the drawer on Christmas day and with all that happened, forgot all about it.

I feel like I just got a gift from my dear MIL who's been gone for 2 years.

I loved her very much. She was the kindest person I ever met.

Would that be considered a suicide or a homicide?

What a neat blessing....not the $100, although that is nice, but the visit from your MIL --even if it was only memories revisited.

I hope you can think of some thing special for that $100....some thing that will make you smile each time you look at it and remember your MIL.

I vote for a new tiara. Tiaras are the new black.

Thanks Jo! I can't wait to wear mine with pride!

Thanks for posting about your Brat taking off on a foody adventure as soon as she knew the hubster would be out of town. My little inner twerp has been doing the same thing for about a week now. Seriously, I could have written about your grocery store trip as if I was there. Heck, I could quote the # of calories and fat grams off the back of the sugar free candy at Walgreens because I've actually read them in the past week. Luckily Smart Tracy has won the battles so far and it was sure helpful to come here and read that you've survived the same struggles.

Your journal has been a nice reminder lately that we can't expect to be "cured" once we hit goal and that reaching and maintaining our goals will require a lifetime of making the proper choices.

Thanks for sharing!

(Maybe if I cry enough she will knit me a scarf. Something even better than a pink scarf with candy charms!)

Jo:

I wanted to say THANKS!!! I just finished my sinfully DELISH Chocolate bar!!! I didn't want to try them - was scared of them, etc etc but tried them because of one of your posts about how much you enjoyed the bars. Thanks!! They are my FAVORITE part of the day!! Most people look forward to their L&G. I look forward to my third meal every day - a bar and diet Dr. Pepper :).

Thanks for inspiring me!
;)
