I'm used to being in your dust, Jo. Who took less time to lose her weight than I did, even though I had less to lose? On program or not, I'm the world's slowest loser.

It may be faster to drop it that way, but I can't believe it's healthier for me to stop exercising or cut so far back. Especially since even when I follow the program to the letter, it takes me WEEKS to lose 5 pounds. Possibly as long as a month. I just can't accept that giving up exercise for a month is the way to go about this. And I know from experience that if I stop or cut back for that long, I'll have a hard time getting back into the habit.

Per Jo: "I just had a profound thought! Stick to the program like I do, drink water like biki does, exercise like Robin and lauren and you'll be the perfect Medifaster!"

Very sound advice...thank you. I do stick to the program, I do drink the water - but the exercise lately just hasn't been happening with my aching back. But that will soon pass and I can begin walking again.

Thanks Jo!!

One caveat to that advice: I wouldn't recommend working out as MUCH as we do while still on the program, especially if you're not used to doing it. You can't take in 800-1,000 calories a day and then turn around and burn several hundred of those. I'd stick to a kinder, gentler exercise regimen.

Hi Jo,

I just wanted to stop in and thank you for the helpful comments you have left in my journal. I think it's really cool the way you manage to convey such a warm, positive presence through cyberspace--not easily done! Hope you're having a great weekend :D

Thank you so much for your comments, mavesse!

Mother's day. It was a really nice day for this mom. My NYC son called and we had a nice chat. Then we went to the city to see my other son and family. We took the Z3....such a nice day!

The kids wanted to take Jake mini golfing before we met, so Mark & I went to Brooks Bros......they were having a great sale! 25% off everything! We stocked up on dress shirts and slacks for Mark. I mosied over to the lady's section and began to look around. I spotted a crisp white no-iron all cotten dress shirt and it hit me! I never looked good in dress clothes when I was fat, but now....well.....I bought 2 dress shirts. One white and one lavender (to match the sparkle socks, hehe)

We met the kids for dinner at Smokey Bones. I ate too much, the baby fussed, Jessica had a sore throat.....but with all that, it was family together and that's what mattered.

I'm blessed with a loving husband, two beautiful sons, a lovely daughter-in-law, and the two most precious and beautiful grandchildren a gramma could ever want. Life is good.

Well, I'm off to my conference first thing tomorrow morning, so if I don't post for a few days it's because I don't have access. I think the hotel has free wireless, though.

Gotta go and pack. I'm not sure what they wear to conferences in FL. Here dress clothes are in order, but I just can't see packing my suits, so I believe dressy casual will have to do and if I'm wrong, too bad.....they won't see me again, hehe.

Don't worry, Biks, I'll fill in as "Faux-Jo" for the time being...

Jo, have fun, and don't worry about the attire, you have good taste which means that even your business casual will likely be better than most peoples' "business" attire!

Ciao!

OMG, Lauren! You don't know what you're getting yourself into! hehe.

Bebes, I'm not abandoning you. I'm pretty sure I'll have wireless and I'll be lonely in my hotel room with nothing to do but knit, so I'll be around.

It's nice to know know we've got backup, though.
