Just sticking my face in here to say 'hi'....I don't have anything to add to your journal nor the conversation (I've got my fingers in my ears and going "nah, nah, nah" loudly when I saw that talk about 'gyms').. ;)

I started knitting a sock (finally!!) and have about 1/2" done so far---I think I'm hot stuff! 8)

Hope you have a wonderful day.

When y'all get as 'experienced' (Nancy's word for 'age') as I am, you will know that exercise and gyms (not gems) are your best friends!
Out of pure self-defense!
Altho' not everybody waits that long... witness LAUREN and BIKI and others I could mention.
TEE, knitting doesn't count!
Well, 'bout time to go meet my friends!

If knitting counted, I'd be in tip top shape!

Hey, T, which needle did you decide to use?

Jo, I bought some Addi's but right now I'm working on just refreshing my knitting ability (been a year or more since I last knit something) and wanted to see if I could follow some directions. I just grabbed a book ('I can't believe I'm knitting socks' is the title) and some old baby yarn to practice with---the book gives instructions for the double pointed needles, so I'm using those just to see if I can follow directions. ;) I bought some Opal self striping yarn and will practice the ML technique with the circular needles (and baby yarn) before trying to make a pair of 'real' socks. Right now, I'm just playing to see if my cast on will really stretch and to make sure I can decipher the instructions. I may send up a S.O.S. when I pull out the ML instructions!! :)

Sojo- what is up with your smileys? They never come up right and all I see are empty boxes!!! Nothing worse than empty boxes...except maybe too much fat in my beef.

Are you making any purple sparkly socks that would accomodate a size 6-7?

HAHAHA! That's what you get for using all of those big words and foreign languages in your posts.

T, I understood every word, hehe.

Speaking of which, bebes......I need a measurement from you. The distance from the back of your heel to where your big toe starts, using the bottom of the foot. Got that?

7 inches if you mean the base of the big toe. If you mean the whole foot it is 8 inches. Wanted to make sure you had all the vital measurements! :)
