People are ALWAYS telling me that they know the perfect sports bra for me, that they are big busted and it's fine for them etc. All lies. I always had to wear my regular bra with TWO sports bras on top, otherwise they just bounced en masse.

Yes, sleek and elegant! Think Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn-they were sleek!

On top of all the hours I'm working, we're getting ready to have our kitchen remodled. We had to go to a granite place last night. We traveled 75 miles and the only thing we accomplished is making the decision that we don't want granite counter tops. I've pretty much made my mind up on soap stone, but hubby isn't convinced......he's at the other end of the spectrum. Soap stone is black. He wants white corian, ugh. I dislike corian. I thought that when he saw the soap stone, he would come around, but noooooo. It's hard....I'm pretty sure I could get my way, but we're talking about $10,000-$12,000 on counter tops and I just think that we should both love the end product. It would so ruin it for me if we got what I want and I knew he wasn't happy about it.

OMG! As I was typing this, he said "I think I want soap stone"!!!! Aren't I supposed to be the fickle one?

Whatever you decide on, check the porosity (sp?). A lot of the stones are porous and oil and grease (shouldn't be any grease in a MF home :D ) and other things can stain the counter tops.

I learned this from a friend who had new tops put in - they had friends with granite and told them about the stains.

Have fun, I know it can be a real pain, but it's exciting, too. :D

We already have some soap stone. It is softer than granite, but it doesn't stain. It gets kind of a patina and it has a flatter finish than granite. If it scratches, you can use fine sand paper on it. Mark is just afraid to put dark counter tops throughout the kitchen. He's coming around, though.

does soap stone come in many colors?
Been looking at granite colors for 2 years and dh and I still do not agree. The real reason I think iis, we are not ready to tear the kitchen apart!

Soap stone is grey in natural form, but installed in a kitchen it needs to be oiled (Linseed oil), and the color is black, but not the blackest black....closer to very dark grey. Sometimes it has a hint of a green cast to it. The color doesn't vary, but there are some veins in it.

I told our desinger we were having trouble agreeing and now she's pointed me in a completely different direction.....quartz! Going to see some samples later.

This is hard work!

Quartz it is! It comes in many variations, but the one we picked looks like marble but it's not porous like marble. It takes no special care, doesn't need to be sealed or oiled. I'm happy and so is the hubster.

I got to have a half of a jo day yesterday. Worked until almost noon, then went to the outlets.....Liz, Ann, Chico's, Ralph.....you get the picture. Until yesterday, I didn't have much in the way of spring/summer duds since last year at this time I was still a size 16.

I gave the sales ladies a run for their money. I always choose things that are too big and I have to send them back for smaller sizes. Yes, I'm still warped in the head. One sales lady even had the nerve to laugh at me, lol....she said "honey, you could fit 2 of you in that." I just look at the size 6 and think "that'll never fit me".

Girls! If you wanna feel skinny, go to Chico's. I wear a size -0-!!!! Gottal love that, lol.

Seriously, though, I have a long way to go with my thinking. I don't like the head games. Much of the time I feel like i'm on the edge of a cliff waiting to be pushed off. My relationship with food isn't where I want it to be either. When we went out for dinner last night, the waitress asked if we wanted dessert and I said no out of habit......but I could have some! If I want it, I can have it occasionally. I have a long way to go.
