I will, Liz. Hopin' for miracles here!!! :x :x :x

Food journal update: I suck!

I'm off this weekend for my annual girlfriends shopping trip. This tradition started years ago while our kids were still small. At that time, our cars were always packed to the brim with toys by the end of the weekend and we were all walking around like zombies looking from that one thing that our kids couldn't live without. Oh, the memories! Now, we're purty much all empty nesters and we purty much indulge ourselves, hehehe. Jjill here I come!!!!!! Weeeeeeee!

Of course, I must reflect on last year's trip. I had just started Medifast, but was feeling really confident. I had no trouble with MF on the trip.....well, except for the exploded dutch chocolate shake all over the hotel bathroom.

I think it gets harder to be 100% compliant at this weight because we are starting to get more confident and feel like it is ok to stray for a bit. It's not! I will lose 5 pounds one week and be a dumb-ass and reward myself with food. I'll go on a 3-day eating trip and then gain the 5 back. I keep losing the same 5 pounds!!! Arrrgh!!!!!! So my average loss is like a pound a week- if I wanted that I could just do Weight Watchers! So frustrating!

BTW- I LOVE those boots!!!! They rock!

Stormy, When I say I suck, it's that I suck at my food journal. I have been and still am compliant. Yep, my weight loss has slowed down, but not because I haven't been compliant. I think it's because I don't have much to lose at this point.

I need to be there - Mind, body, and soul. I'm there mind and soul, but my body has a little bit of catching up to do.

On a really good note, my shopping trip was fantastic. I don't know how, but I have skipped size 10! Everything I bought was size 8 and even a few size 6's! Several medium tops and sweaters were just too big and I had to go to the small. I am really close to my goal and if the clothes I bought start to get too baggy, I may stop, lol. I love love love my new duds!

Wow, it pays to keep a weight journal because I was thinking that I've been at this weight for weeks, but it's actually only been 8 days. I'm glad I checked.

Today I'm wearing a pair of size 10 slacks that I bought just a few pounds ago. I thought sure I was safe buying them....guess what.....baggy. I'm just gonna have to wear them baggy, though. I've spent too much money on clothes in that size.....whoda thunk that a 10 would be too big for me! I mean ME!

On my trip, I got some really nice dress up clothes for the holidays. I had so much fun choosing and had trouble recognizing that person in the mirror looking hot in those duds. I even put one outfit on twice to make sure it fit, lol.

I got a great bargain on an Ann Taylor skirt - $39.95 marked down from $139.95, Jones New York blazer - $113 marked down from $179. Then to Kohls for some "filler" clothes.....turtle necks, socks, cotton sweaters, dockers for work, some Levi's.....got a whole bag full of things for $150. Jjill almost never has what I want on sale, so I paid full price for my favorite jeans in size 8, and got a really cool sweater there. Coldwater Creek and Christopher and Banks had sales going on. I got $50 off my total and a free garnet necklace and earrings at CWC, and got a sweater for $19.95 marked down from $89 at C & B.

I had in mind that I need a down vest with a fur collar, but I couldn't find the perfect one, so I passed on that.....see, I do have a little tiny bit of restraint, lol.

All in all, if you don't add it all up, hehe, I saved alot of money this weekend......as I always say......gotta spend it to save it!

I love that! I hope I can someday say a size 10 is too big for me!!

You are truly an inspiration -- what type of exercise did you start out with?? I will try to read you whole journal throughout this week to see just what you did and at what point in your weight loss ~

Jo -

How much do you rock?

Rhetorical question, of course, but I am sure many here will respond anyway!

I am so psyched for you, and laughing because I just recently bought a ton of stuff I love too, and I don't want to have to replace it! I am thinking that even if I lose a few pounds more, the clothes will still fit.

So, I am going through the same crap as you with people telling me I should be done, but still feeling like I have a few more pounds to go. Truth is, I think you and I might be in exactly the same frame of mind right now. The MF is easy, we see a few pounds can go, why not stick with the program? If I was tired of the diet or just dying to be done with it, then I'd be rushing to get onto maintenance, but I'm not. You? My one year anniversary is on the 10th, and I kind of think I may begin the fruit transition next week in honor of that, but I wonder if that's just because others are pushing the issue. How's your hubby been about it? I know he was your biggest source of wanting you to maintain...

Losing the weight is easy...maintaining it will be hard. I wish we could just stay here! :-) Did I just say that???

Oh, by the way, I LOVE Ann Taylor and JJill too - fits great, and is perfect for business!

Sounds like you had a fabulous trip. Shopping is so much fun. I am learning that I don't have to go into plus size shops anymore. I still find myself once and awhile going into the womens sizes and then it dawns on me that I don't need to shop in this department anymore :D .

You are an inspiration Jo, I just hope I can learn from you and not screw this up again.

He's been ok since I stood my ground the last time he commented. I think he knows there's no stopping me, lol.

Only five more pounds! Gone before you know it.
And we get rewarded by witnessing your AFTER pictures.
Do you prefer a gold, leather or fur goal seat? (Robin, DQ and Silver Fox will chip in.)
For you, nothing is too good! Just don't wear us out waiting! :x

Lauren: We're waiting patiently for you, too! Same offer goes for you!

Jo, how exciting for you, it's so close! I can't believe we started around the same time and are transitioning around the same time - I feel so lucky to have done this with you! Now we just have to meet!

Lizabette - how sweet are you? Leather or gold for me, not a big fur fan, unless it's alive and licking my hands and letting me pet it!

Can't wait to hang out with you big losers in maintenance land!
