I have missed you this weekend. I wasn't very good about keeping to a 5-1. I didi more like a maintenance plan using some MF supplements. I did very well until yesterday which started off with a chocolate chip scone...I still posted a loss for the week but not as much as it could have been. I am back on WW today. Will talk to you Monday!

Notes to self for sanity sake:

1. No baking this holiday season. Let others take care of it. There's always too much anyway and nobody needs it.

2. My plan is to be on program (5&1) except for Thanksgiving dinner and a few holiday parties. I should be able to maintain doing that.

3. Jan 1, 2007 - Get on program and stay on until this pesky 5+ pounds goes away.

4. No more advice posts. It's not worth the grief. Only reply to PM's.

I want to:

1. Lose the self consious feeling I have even with only a few extra pounds.

2. Feel good in my size 6's and not feel as if they're a bit tight.

3. Stop with the yoyo eating. Sure I can maintain that way, but it's too much of a struggle.

Hey, Jo! You can post advice to me anytime! That's an easy offer, considering I don't have my own journal, eh? :-)

But seriously, call out to me anytime with any thoughts at all, we're in it together!

Yes, stop the yoyo crap. It means you're opening the pathway of dooooom...when you can justify the 1-2 pounds up and take them off, and they the 3-4 pounds up and take them off, when does it stop? When do you suddenly hit the emergency button and realize that it's just going up, and not coming down as easily. While I don't think you need to live a life of 5-1 planning, you can work to find the happy medium. The amount or types of food that allow you to maintain, not swing back and forth. It's not good for your head or your body. You know that. Stop bs-ing yourself in those moments. :-)

We all need tough love sometimes. I don't think you need it right now, since your plan looks fantastic and you seem totally on the ball, but I just want you to know that there is most definitely someone here who will call you out on crap or hold you accountable. Sorry I'm not around as often, but you can pm me anytime to kick you! It sounds like fun! ha.

Definitely don't bake. Save yourself the aggravation and everyone else the calories.

And don't forget to smile. We're kicking ass, didn't you get the memo?

Jo

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I am shocked! I don't know why but ever since I saw your pics in the studio and saw that you were keeping up with the boards way after achieving goal I just assumed you were  perfect

I just stopped by to say Hi and I love your avatar! Very cute. You seem like a lady with a quick smile ;)

Charity,

I'm having what's called life and yes, it's hard sometimes. Do you think that after you hit goal it gets easy? Maintenance is infinately harder than being on program, so if you're having trouble staying on program, good luck with maintenance.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, my smile comes easy. I'm an optomist.

Lauren, I'm afraid I have an inner Lauren who gives me the what for all the time. I'm growing and learning.....work in progress. There will be no slip into doom because before I let that happen, I'll be back on the 5&1. I just haven't found my perfect comfort zone with some of my triggers. Thanks for the offer, though. I do know you're there if and when I need a kick.

Hey jo, we all know there are adjustment periods, but i think many of us dont realize how difficult they can become at times. We tend to think that if we can just get all of the weight off, it will stay off. NOPE! Thanks for being honest and showing us that it will always be work. We will always still need to pay close attention to what we eat, we just get to do it as our skinny selves. 5lbs may not sound like a lot but we are all living proof that 5 can turn to 10, 20 and more in the blink of an eye. Glad you have a handle on it and recognize adjustments that you need to make to keep yourself as "your skinny self".

Great comment and acknowledgment! I swear I am not going to read your whole journal just yet but now i'm intrigued! *I'll be back later for a look through I really need to go run a few errands* I hope you are enjoying your day thus far and that you find comfort in your own advice. I have a feeling I will learn a lot here!

We will always still need to pay close attention to what we eat

Erica,

It's much easier said than done. With maintenance, nothing is taboo unless we choose to make it that way. I'm wrestling with this. I thought that moderation was the key, but some things just may not have a moderation level.....they go from 0 - 100 lightning fast. I truly feel at times that I need to give some things up for good and mourn the loss as in the loss of a good friend. Accepting that could be the key to my sanity.

I pay attention to everything I eat, but it's not enough to make me feel comfortable.

Dang, I was so much happier on program, lol.

The whole thing could be a bit intimidating, but the first 15-20 pages would get you to where I hit goal. I've re-read it several times just to remind myself where I was and how I got to where I am.
