I started back walking yesterday. There's a 10k in the spring up in Redwood National Forest I really want to do.

Go get 'em!!

 walkin', yes indeed I'm walkin...

At lunch time, the time I normally veggggg out, I decided to take a walk instead. I walked to the local park. To and from took me 45 minutes, prolly not quite 3 miles, but enough. I've walked 3 miles every day since I got home! So that's something like 20 days in a row!!!!

By Jove! I think I've got it! (bebes, use your best Paulie accent here)

It's addictive, isn't it? Have a great morning and thank you for not stopping by my journal yesterday.

Well, I'm starting to feel skinny again, whew! Lost another 4 pounds overnight. That makes 7 of the 12(!!) I do believe the 12 hours on an airplane had almost as much to do with the additional weight as the Rhapsody of the Seas lunch buffet and afternoon "tea". Did you know that when you have a grand suite they suprise you with all kinds of goodies in your cabin? I won't elaborate, but it was insane! Which in turn made me insane, thankfully only for a few days. They say you can retire on a cruise ship.......oh no, not me. I would inflate so fast the ship would sink in no time.

I'm taking my walking shoes to work today.

Those long airplane rides will KILL your weight. It usually takes me a couple of days to normalize, even from a shorter flight.

And I had a suite when my friend and I did a Mediterranean cruise (years ago, when I had more money). Fabulous!! I remember the goodies. And having hot chocolate every morning out on the balcony. Sigh.

Hey Jo! Welcome home! That sounds really wierd especially since you were actually here at my home! :|

I knew you would love it here. It's paradise, what can I say! When you visit the next time, I'll make sure I'm well so we can actually get together. You need a few days to really get the feel of this island and can't miss out on things like the Polynesian Cultural Center and beaches on the North Shore.

Hi Jo !
I have a quick question for you. Since you got home from your vacation, I noticed that you were back on MF supp's...Since you are in maintenance wouldn't it be as easy to lose the 12 pounds by just careful eating of foods? I am not trying to be a smarty pants here, just trying to understand
how it all works once you get to maintenance...I have a long way to go and I am encouraged by your successes !!

Thank you !

Well, I suppose I could, but I want it off now! I could have played around with it for a few months, but I just thought with that much to lose, I'd better get serious. I might stay on for a month or so because before vacation I was struggleing a bit to stay at goal. This feels good, though. I have no complaints. It almost feels like a cleansing. Wanna make sure when turkey day comes I'm not already stuffed.

Thanks Jo for writing back ! I had said in my journal to Biki that I will probably always have MF supp's in my home long after I reach maintenance ! Seems like a safety net and security at least for me !

I understand that one pound can led to two and you are smart to get the "extra's" off now ! Ya know, for me holidays don't trigger eating for me...Weird isn't it??

Pam, Maintenance is a bit different for everyone. Some here don't use the supplements at all after transition. I use the supplements every day for several reasons. The biggest reason is that they are low calorie, balanced, and easy. I don't really like having to think much about what I'm going to eat and having supplements around allows me to be lazy. Another reason is that I truly do like the supplements. The bars satisfy my sweet tooth most days, the oatmeal is a great way to start my day, and the pudding is a fine treat at the end of the day. Sure there are days when I just want eggs and toast for breakfast or dessert instead of pudding, but most days are pretty predictable. As my dad always told me "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

i think that i will definitely want to keep supplements in my diet after i go through transition. that seems such a long ways away though heheh ...*sigh * lol. and jo the pudding is amazing...i could just order a months worth of that and be happy lol.

and i imagine im times where ill want dessert that i probably dont need that might be a life saver. My concern is that if i get to goal right around my wedding and i go on my cruise, that is probably going to throw me way off. i wonder if i should just try and be careful about not eating past feeling full or if i should actually bring a few supplements along. i heard our cruise ship has a sushi bar...i think if i just hung out there i might be fine lol. i figured i might have it as a planned cheat but not go wild, and on the days at sea hit the gym in the am. one thing i know for sure is i will have medifast ready as soon as we get off that ship. lol
